Annika Low, Julian Mone & More to Star in BRIGADOON ON THE RIVER/IN THE PARK
The cast will also feature Olivia DeFilippo, Dan Corica, Jaden Holtschlag and Lisa Kwak in the free outdoor concert presentation.
Casting has been revealed for Brigadoon on the River/In the Park, a free concert presentation of the Lerner and Loewe musical coming to Sutton Place Park and Central Park this September.
The concert will feature Annika Low (Mary Poppins, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre; My Fair Lady, Thumbcoast Theaters), Julian Mone (Mary Poppins, Charlie Brown, Chicago), Olivia DeFilippo (The Little Mermaid, Disney Cruise Line; Good Dog, NYFT), Dan Corica (TheaterWorksUSA, NYC Fringe Festival), Jaden Holtschlag (Hairspray, White Plains PAC; A Christmas Story, Lexington Theatre Company) and Lisa Kwak (Brigadoon, The Fantasticks, Village Theatre).
The full company will include two lead singers, four supporting singers and a 21-member ensemble, accompanied by a 28-piece orchestra.
Sutton Place Parks Conservancy, in conjunction with JWM: A Theatrical Company, will present performances on Tuesday, September 15 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Sutton Place Park. A third performance will be presented September 22 at 2 p.m. at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, produced by JWM: A Theatrical Company and ShowPeople Theatre Collective Inc.
Jarrett Winters Morley, Artistic Director of JWM: A Theatrical Company, will serve as producer, music director and conductor. Willie Clyde Beaton II will choreograph, with Leah Beth Etheredge serving as associate director.
Featuring music by Frederick Loewe and a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, Brigadoon debuted on Broadway in 1947 with choreography by Agnes De Mille.
The 70-minute concert has been curated for audiences who may no longer be able to access theater because of age, disability or financial restrictions. The annual event was the recipient of the 2023 BroadwayWorld Award for Best Off-Broadway Theatrical/Immersive Experience.
Tickets for the Sutton Place Park performances are free and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning August 29 at 9 a.m., with seating priority given to community seniors and people with disabilities. Livestreaming will also be available.
The September 22 performance at the Naumburg Bandshell is unticketed and free to the public.
Brigadoon is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
