The Public Theater announces that Amanda Peet has joined the cast of This Is How It Goes, replacing Marisa Tomei who has withdrawn from the show due to personal family reasons. Directed by George C. Wolfe, the world premiere of This is How it Goes also stars Ben Stiller and Jeffrey Wright. Preview performances begin March 10th and the opening night is March 27th.

In This Is How It Goes, Neil LaBute turns his savage observer's eye to small town America, where an interracial love triangle sets off a fierce drama of manipulation, exploitation, infidelity, and passion. The author of Fat Pig, The Shape of Things, and In the Company of Men brings to The Public's stage his most challenging and ambitious work to-date.

Amanda Peet has appeared on stage in Whale Music (Rattlestick Theater Company), The Country Club (Long Wharf Theatre), Awake And Sing! (Jewish Repertory Theatre; with Stephen Lang and Tovah Feldshuh), and Winter Lies, among others. She is well-known for her roles in such films as Something's Gotta Give with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton; The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry; Igby Goes Down opposite Jeff Goldblum, Susan Sarandon and Kieran Culkin; Identity with John Cusack and Ray Liotta; High Crimes with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd; and Changing Lanes with Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Affleck and Sydney Pollack. Peet will next be seen in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda, which will be released on March 18th, as well as starring in A Lot Like Love with Ashton Kutcher, which will be released on April 22nd. Peet will appear opposite George Clooney and Matt Damon in Syriana later this fall.
