Producers of the Tony Award-winning Matilda the Musical announced today that Alison Luff will join the company as Miss Honey beginning tomorrow, Saturday, September 6.

ALISON LUFF has spent the last year starring as Elphaba in the first national tour of Wicked. Original Broadway credits include Scandalous and Ghost The Musical. Alison was also part of the Broadway & national tour companies of Mamma Mia! She has received a Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Olive in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Theatre Aspen.

Luff joins a principal cast that also features Karen Aldridge as Mrs. Phelps, Matt Harrington as Mr. Wormwood, Lesli Margherita as Mrs. Wormwood, Christopher Sieber as Miss Trunchbull, and the four girls sharing the title role: Tori Feinstein, Eliza Holland Madore, Brooklyn Shuck, and Fina Strazza.

The ensemble features Jennifer Bowles, Alex Brightman, Christian Michael Camporin, Timothy TV Cao, Grace Capeless, Ava DeMary, Scott Difford, John Arthur Greene, Jonah Halperin, Garett Hawe, Nadine Isenegger, Colin Israel, Marisa Kennedy, Sean Montgomery, Alexa Shae Niziak, Geoff Packard, Celia Mei Rubin, Sofia Roma Rubino, Analise Scarpaci, Cassie Silva, Mitchell Sink, Phillip Spaeth, Chris Sumpter, Heather Tepe, Beatrice Tulchin, Travis Waldschmidt, and Ted Wilson*.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL, produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, opened in April 2013 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) to rapturous reviews and has been celebrated on 10 "Top Ten" lists for 2013. The production has received four Tony Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for each of the four girls who shared the title role, two Outer Critics Circle Awards, five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. MATILDA THE MUSICAL is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage), who helms this production with a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin.

The production has sets and costumes by Tony Award winner Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Tony Award winner Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.
