Matilda the Musical on Stage Videos - Broadway

A new behind-the-scenes video from the 10th birthday press day was released, featuring interviews with Tim Minchin (music and lyrics), Dennis Kelly (writer), Catherine Mallyon (Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company), Elliot Harper (Miss Trunchbull) and Landi Oshinowo (Mrs Phelps).

To celebrate the reopening of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Matilda The Musical last night at the Cambridge Theatre, the show has released a photograph from the curtain call as well as a new video which gives audiences an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at the preparations in the lead up to reopening the multi-award winning musical in the West End.

In the video, Imogen Cole, Alyssa D’Souza, Alex Munden and Zoe Simon can be seen getting to grips with their gymnastic ribbon skills under the watchful eye of Elliot Harper (Miss Trunchbull).

The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Matilda The Musical has released a video of some of the current young performers along with Miss Honey (Gina Beck) singing 'When I Grow Up' from their homes during theatreland shutdown.

It swept the board at last year's Laurence Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking seven awards.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL, produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, opened on April 11, 2013 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street). The four girls sharing the title role are Sophia Gennusa -- who played the lead on opening night -- Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro, each of whom is making her Broadway debut. Currently playing at London's Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Matilda the Musical is Broadway-bound in 2013.
