In Bad Medicine, Native American academics Aislin and Cesar are excited to settle into their new home in Proctor, Massachusetts. Even their nosy white neighbors seem nice enough. But as Aislin becomes aware of strange occurrences surrounding her job at the Natural History Museum, she starts to wonder if there might be something insidious beneath the sleepy town. Aislin must overcome deep insecurities around her identity to uncover the town’s terrifying secrets.
Sometimes a show seems like it’s of the moment; the plot points and action hits just right for the time. Many times they become iconic parts of the canon for years to come, but some tend to feel like they miss the mark too quickly. Bad Medicine, which has its world premiere at the Santa Fe Playhouse this month, seems to fall into the latter category.
Jamison Driskill will join Santa Fe Playhouse as Managing Director, bringing prior experience as Director of Development at The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock, Texas.
Santa Fe Playhouse has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of BAD MEDICINE, an Indigenous-led horror-comedy by P.C. Verrone, co-directed by Lauren Trujillo and Taylor Trujillo. Learn more here!
