Carmen at Her Majesty's Theatre Adelaide

State Opera South Australia presents a new production of Bizet's Carmen, set in its original 1825 Seville setting and directed by Laura Hansford. Carmen, a fiercely independent woman, becomes entangled with soldier Don José, whose obsession spirals into jealousy and tragedy. The production features South Australian soprano Charlotte Kelso as Carmen, tenor Gerard Schneider as Don José, baritone Samuel Dale Johnson as Escamillo and soprano Desiree Frahn as Micaëla, with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and State Opera Chorus.
