Broadway legend and Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch appeared as the Special Guest Performer for the gala, which also featured appearances from Special Guest Presenters Kathleen Chalfant, Nathan Lane and Sara Ramirez.

Joining the previously announced stars of EVITA - world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger in her Broadway debut as Eva Perón and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón - are Max von Essen as Magaldi, Rachel Potter as the Mistress, and Christina DeCicco as the alternate/standby for Eva Perón.

UP ON THE MARQUEE: NEWSIES!December 29, 2011As previously announced, Newsies will move to Broadway's Nederlander Theatre for a strictly limited 101 performance run following its critically-hailed run at Paper Mill Playhouse earlier this fall. The musical, featuring a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman, and a book by four-time Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), will play its first Broadway preview on March 15th prior to its March 29th opening night; the final performance is scheduled for June 10th.

Beane and Flinn received the Transporting American Theatre Award for their outstanding contributions to American theatre.

The cast features: James Clow (Bob Wallace), Tony Yazbeck (Phil Davis), Jill Paice (Betty Haynes), Meredith Patterson (Judy Haynes), Edward James Hyland (General Waverly) and Lorna Luft (Martha Watson). The show begins performances on Wednesday, November 16 and runs at the Millburn theater through Saturday, December 24. Opening night is scheduled for Sunday, November 20.

Photo Coverage: Jennifer Damiano Bids Farewell to SPIDER-MANNovember 7, 2011Jennifer Damiano played her final performance on November 6 as Mary Jane Watson in SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark on Broadway. She will be replaced by Rebecca Faulkenberry beginning on Tuesday but on Sunday cast, crew (and BroadwayWorld) were on hand for Damiano's final curtain call to bid her farewell.
