Renowned world-wide for exceptional story-telling, Cornish based Kneehigh has launched, Walk With Me, an immersive story walking app, constructed around GPS triggered audio narratives, which takes listeners to the very heart of Cornwall. The official launch will take place on Sunday 16 July from 2 to 5pm at Newquay Rowing Club with writer Anna Maria Murphy and Kneehigh company members sharing the stories gathered from local people.

Enter the mysterious and wonderful world of Wild Cornwall with this free to download app and delight in lively, funny and intriguing tales that have been collected across the county and can be enjoyed in the comfort of your home or out and about while exploring villages and towns in Cornwall.

Inspired by the company's Rambles programme, Kneehigh Associate Artist, poet and writer Anne Marie Murphy began walking roads less travelled collecting stories and memories of people she met along the way. From the rather particular pasty seller to the disgruntled surfer, these real-life stories have been shaped and embellished into amusing and informative dramatic dialogues and performed by Kneehigh company members, allowing the listener to enjoy a living landscape through rich and vivid story telling.

Anna Maria Murphy, Kneehigh Associate Artist said, 'The stories on the "Walk with Me" app, aren't ones you will find in the guide or history books. You may find the beginnings of them in an old photograph in a local museum, an over heard conversation in a café, a personal anecdote from one our tale gathering tea-parties. They are the untold, the personal, the sometimes wildly exaggerated, but sometimes not.'

Charlotte Bond, General Manager of Kneehigh and Director of Rambles said 'You can use the app when you are out on a walk to hear stories collected in the particular place you are visiting. Local legends, gossip, it's like walking with local story tellers. It uses GPS so when you reach a particular place you'll hear a particular story. It's a great new way to explore familiar and unfamiliar towns and villages across Cornwall or to revisit ones you think you know.'

Walk With Me features story walks for Perranporth, Mevagissey and Newquay and new walks will be released for Helston, Redruth and Bodmin. It is available for iOS and Android technology through the App Store and Google Play.

From breath-taking barns in Cornwall they create theatre of humanity on an epic and tiny scale. Led by Mike Shepherd, they work with an ever-changing bunch of talented and like-minded performers, artists, makers and musicians and are passionate about the creative process.
