SYNOPSIS: Woody Allen meets William Shakespeare in this comedic adaptation of the Bard's classic tale of star-crossed lovers. Whatever you're looking for, you can find it here: a philosophical study on love and death, another twist on a true classic, or a lot of great laughs - Romeo & Juliet: An Escapist Comedy truly has something for everybody.

SYNOPSIS: A wallflower, a kinky party girl, a feminist, and a wannabe stay-at-home-mom walks into a bar...and she's not leaving without a date. What happens when a woman who's been focused on finding "Mr. Right Now" tries to find "Mr. Right?"...and is wanting more than one "Mr. Right" really so wrong? Based on true life events, and told through story and song, Slut pushes the stereotypes surrounding female sexuality.

SYNOPSIS: In John Patrick Shanley's touching and edgy comedy, three former grade school classmates find themselves at a run-down Bronx bar presided over by a bartender who habitually waters his dead plants. SYNOPSIS: A female doctor, committed to stopping the rapes in her village and treating the young female victims, is captured by a group of men who wish to silence her. As she tries to cope with captivity, her reality, past and present begin to blend and she is forced to face some difficult questions about her life, her work and her ethics.

PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED: This piece was originally performed as part of a 4th year University final project. It has been reworked, rewritten and reimagined for this festival.

First Day Back -- Ten Foot Pole Theatre

SYNOPSIS: It's the first day back to school after 14-year-old Ollie killed himself in his bedroom following months of bullying about his love of figure skating and singing and the fact that he's gay. There's an eerie hush in the halls today as Ollie's friends, teachers, and tormenters gather to figure out who's responsible and how to keep this from happening again.

PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED: Performed in the 2012 Victoria and Vancouver Fringes to rave reviews.

SYNOPSIS In SwingSet, a woman is questioned about her involvement in what happened to her husband that night at a local swinger's club. SwingSet is a straight forward story... until it's not. The show is all about relationships - each pair of characters have their own unique dynamic.

Red is a dark modern take on Little Red Riding Hood, as narrated by Rose (whose identity unfolds as the play does). A brilliant melding of modern story/relationship archetypes, and the timeless tale we've heard since we were kids.

SYNOPSIS We've all heard nice guys finish last, but what about nice girls? XOXO:

The Relationship Show is an hour-long comedy cabaret exploring the highs and lows of dating in the modern world, from first kiss to first dis, break-ups to make-ups and everything in between. Two Juliets (Meghan Chalmers & Franny McCabe-Bennett) proudly presents this high-energy hybrid of sketch comedy, theatre and music! Recommended ages 15+.
