COCA Announces 2014-2015 Season of COCA PRESENTS

COCA is pleased to announce its COCA Presents 2014-2015 season lineup. COCA Presents is COCA's performance series featuring the quality family theatre for which COCA has been known for more than 20 years. Comprised of shows created and produced by COCA, as well as the best touring productions from around the world, the COCA Presents performance series offers bold, cross-disciplinary productions. The 2014-2015 season, which opens November 1 with Me and My Shadow from Australia's Patch theatre Company, is comprised of 8 dynamic shows totaling 28 performances. Subscriptions in packages of four and eight shows are now available.

"We are thrilled to offer St. Louis audiences unique productions that challenge and delight," said Shawna Flanigan, COCA's Director of Arts Education. "Half of the shows are produced by COCA, and the other half were created in Canada, Los Angeles and Australia. We are so pleased with the diversity and high quality of our offerings next season."

Me and My Shadow

Patch Theatre Company

November 1-2, 2014

Australia's Patch Theatre Company presents Me and My Shadow in the form of a visual poem, telling its
story using the languages of paper, light, shadow, color, water, music, sound and words. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Nearly Lear

Susanna Hamnett

Actress Susanna Hamnett braves the most savage storm in English literature with breathtaking hilarity and heartache, honoring the beautiful language of King Lear while taking a bit of poetic license. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

Stella, Queen of the Snow

COCAdance and the COCA Hip-Hop Crew

January 10-11, 2015

The COCA fan favorite returns! The new year kicks off with a high-energy dance concert featuring a mix of commercial hip-hop and contemporary dance. For all ages.

Continuing the Legacy

COCAdance

February 6-7, 2015

Continuing the Legacy uses dance as a vehicle to take audience members through black history - from slavery to the jazz era, through the civil rights movement, to modern times. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Walking the Tightrope

24th Street Theatre

February 21-22, 2015

Walking the Tightrope is a sweet and funny story of a grandfather and granddaughter building a new relationship together after Grandma has gone. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

The Little Prince

COCA Theatre Company

March 6-8 and March 13-14, 2015

This immersive, theatrical interpretation brings to life the book's fantastic characters and speaks to the castaway in all of us: challenging our perspective, opening our eyes and reminding us what truly matters. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
