Chance Theater, Anaheim’s official resident theater company, announces the regional premiere production of the 2009 rock musical “Green Day’s American Idiot.” Check out the first photos!

The Hypocrites launch their 2015-16 season with the Chicago premiere of the smash Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT, featuring music by Grammy Award-winning punk rock band Green Day, book by Green Day frontman/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer and lyrics by Armstrong, direction by Steven Wilson, musical direction by Andra Velis Simon and choreography by Katie Spelman. AMERICAN IDIOT will play now through October 25, 2015 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. One might expect the Pittsburgh audience who filled Heinz Hall on the opening night of the punk rock musical AMERICAN IDIOT to be predominantly young, hip and edgy Green Day fans. Not so. In typical Pittsburgh Cultural District style, the first night crowd seemed to be the usual mix of young adults, middle aged folks, and a fair share of senior citizens. Even a few pre-teens were present, albiet inappropriately so, as AMERICAN IDIOT's subject matter is extensively peppered with foul language, on stage sex, underwear brandishing young men and women, and unfettered drug use.

On March 26th, Roy Thomson Hall was packed with eager hopefuls who came out to audition for the National Tour of Green Day's American Idiot. Dancap will be presenting the tour in December of 2011, and Toronto was the only Canadian city that the casting directors visited. Broadway's cuddliest cast kicked off a new year with the 14th edition of THE BROADWAY BEARS auction yesterday, Sunday, March 6, 2011 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, produced by and benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Sure to out-do last year's collection, 43 one-of-a-kind, autographed BROADWAY BEARS - each dressed in original, handmade costumes representing some of the theater's most legendary performers and performances - will be put up for auction.

Production photos of the new cast of AMERICAN IDIOT have been released! Davey Havok (lead vocalist of the American rock band AFI) has joined for a limited two week engagement as 'St. Jimmy.' In addition, Justin Guarini (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) will play the role of 'Will,' and current and original Broadway cast members Van Hughes and Libby Winters took over the roles of 'Johnny' and 'The Extraordinary Girl,' respectively on March 1, 2011.
