Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black’s one act song cycle TELL ME ON A SUNDAY receives a rare staging at Hayes Theatre, showcasing Erin Clare as the solo character.

Victoria Elena (& guest singers) brought her show “Confessions of a Professional Princess” to the Greenroom 42 stage in midtown NYC. The show was a tip of the hat and homage to combining her many professional endeavors as an artist. The set list for this show was made up of some of Disney’s most iconic songs and characters.

Hats Off Productions is currently presenting The Motherf**ker with the Hat by Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Luis-Daniel Morales. Norm Lewis never ceases to amaze.  What he gives an audience is a pleasure so indescribable, that I am hard pressed to find the words.  The voice is impossible.  How can this fine actor possess this magical instrument?  A bass-baritone with a superb, other wordly, upper register and a crazy range when he jumps octaves.  It’s divine.  So is his first time on the stage with the equally sublime Billy Stritch.  

THE (ONE ACT) PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, five stars; Murder at Haversham Manor, one star, would not recommend. Well done, Austin Playhouse, well done.

Not all actors can boast credits in theatre, television, and film, but Angela Grovey can. Grovey, who plays stage manager Annie in the hilarious The Play that Goes Wrong, spoke with me over the phone about her life in entertainment and about her charitable work with Covenant House, a national shelter for homeless youth.

Things fall of, stage men and women hustle on the stage that's not even ready yet. The play had a good intro with the giggly, proud 'director' Teemu Aromaa. He also made a cameo role as the detective in the play they performed to us.

Epic Theatre Company is heading to the Academy Players for the craziest show of the season-Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis' "The Motherf***er with the Hat."  It's a dark comedy that looks at the struggles of life after addiction through the lens of one of America's best playwrights directed by Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, Artistic Director of Mixed Magic Theater.

Gloria Gifford is a stage-trained actress from New York City, giving her the necessary background to understand the intricacies of people caught up in a place where the traffic is loud and people live in close proximity to each other, yet still think it's necessary to always be screaming at one another to get the upper hand. Such is the case with the five characters in Stephen Adly Guirgis' 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning THE MOTHF**CKER WITH THE HAT, an urban comedy now being presented as the inaugural production at the Gloria Gifford Conservatory for the Performing Arts new location on Theater Row in Hollywood.

There has never been a funnier tragedy than The Mofo with the Hat. Some may call this a dark comedy, but the humor here is so wonderfully and naturally integrated that the laughs come freely. At its core, this play is, surprisingly, a love story. It revolves around people thrown apart by lies and abuse issues, who just happen to have the most furiously colorful use of language. It's as heart-wrenching as it is side-splitting.

THE HAT, which opened at the Santa Fe Playhouse on March 12, is a personal and highly original tale, dealing with some of the lesser known human stories of world war II. Written by Santa Fe playwright, Dianna Lewis, the play is grounded in historical fact. While the details of this particular story are fictional, the circumstances under which it unfolds are shockingly real.

When a tall, lanky cat wearing a red-and-white-striped hat steps through the door, one thing is certain: wild, wacky fun is about to ensue. The Cat in the Hat brings Dr. Seuss' classic tale vividly to life at The Rose Theater, today, Oct. 3-19. This energetic adaptation of the iconic children's book weaves all the silliness and charm of the original story into a playful production that will delight the entire family. Bucks County Playhouse has announced their Founders Day Diamond Jubilee, a festive community gathering on Monday evening, June 30, 2014 at 7 pm to commemorate the first 75 years of the Playhouse. The evening will begin with the debut of a new film: Straw Hat Cinderella: Bucks County Playhouse at 75. Narrated by stage and screen star Marsha Mason, the film features historic photographs, paintings and drawings and commentary by curator David Leopold, Playhouse producer Alexander Fraser, Michener Director and CEO Lisa Hanover, and painter Robert Beck. Artists Rep presents the Northwest premiere of The Motherfucker With the Hat by Stephen Aldy Guirgis, now through March 30. This hard-hitting, comedic play premiered on Broadway in 2011 starring Chris Rock, making his Broadway debut as Ralph D. and was directed by Anna D. Shapiro. Kevin Jones will direct Artists Rep's production starring Victor Mack as Ralph D.
