STAGES St. Louis presents its final show of the season, A CHORUS LINE, in the Ross Family Theatre at the Kirwood Performing Arts Center. A CHORUS LINE opens Wednesday, September 14th. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 9 Tony Awards, the show tells the heartbreaking and exhilirating story of a group of dancers auditioning to land a spot in a Broadway chorus.

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the A Chorus Line film.  To celebrate this anniversary Concord Theatricals has released a new lyric video for “What I Did For Love” from the original cast recording featuring Priscilla Lopez and the A Chorus Line ensemble.

The Public Theater is bringing joy to theater-lovers by sharing videos and digital pieces from their past and not-so-distant past! In April 1975, A CHORUS LINE began in the Newman Theater at The Public. Forty years later, the cast of HAMILTON paid tribute to the production and celebrated with the original company. Paper Mill Playhouse will present A Chorus Line, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical conceived, choreographed and directed by Michael Bennett, with book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch, and lyrics by Edward Kleban. The production will be directed and choreographed by Mitzi Hamilton, one of the dancers in Bennett's original taped workshop that inspired the 1975 Musical. John O'Neill will serve as Music Director/Conductor. A Chorus Line started performances last night, October 3. Check out highlights from the show in the video below!

Today in 1975, A Chrous Line opened at the Shubert THeatre, where it ran for 6137 performances. A Chorus Line is a musical about Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line. The book was authored by James Kirkwood, Jr. and Nicholas Dante, lyrics were written by Edward Kleban, and music was composed by Marvin Hamlisch. With nineteen main characters, it is set on the bare stage of a Broadway theatre during an audition for a musical. The show provides a glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers. The original Broadway production received 12 Tony Award nominations and winning nine of them, in addition to the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Maine State Music Theatre opens its 54th season with the Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon A CHORUS LINE. Starting the season off with a high kick, A CHORUS LINE opens at the Pickard Theater on Wednesday, June 6th and runs until June 23rd. Ticket prices range from $36 to $59.
