BWW Review: TRULY MADLY FAMOUSLY by Rebecca Serle
by Bonnie Lynn Wagner - May 9, 2017

Paige Townsen is living the dream. She's been plucked out of obscurity and thrust into Hollywood the moment she's cast as August in the upcoming blockbuster movie LOCKED. LOCKED is the hottest book trilogy out there, and fans are clamoring to see it on the big screen. Having the number one movie at the box office and having these characters be household names means everyone knows Paige's face--and the faces of her co-stars, Rainer Devon and Jordan Wilder. But it also means that the trio is constantly hounded by paparazzi and that their lives are under a microscope. If one picture takes something out of context, it can change lives. When the wrong picture is revealed to the tabloids, Paige's life turns upside down in an instant. (more...)

BWW Review: ANGELS IN AMERICA, National Theatre
by Marianka Swain - May 5, 2017

Tony Kushner's landmark two-part play begins at a funeral, with a rabbi solemnly naming a woman's surviving relatives; partway through the interminable list of grandchildren, he stops and sighs. It's a witty opener for a piece that's epic in every conceivable sense of the word, taking almost eight hours to tackle not just state of the nation, but state of humanity and the divine. Though there's the odd lull, particularly in Kushner's baggier, Wilder second part, Marianne Elliott's revival - 25 years after the influential National Theatre production - is a monumental achievement.
