Roditi will highlight his original compositions, including 'The Monster and the Flower', 'Piccolo Blues', and 'Ballad for JGL'. He will be accompanied on keyboards by Matt King, a Thelonius Monk International Jazz Piano Competition finalist, who has performed with such artists as bassist Rufus Reid, drummer Billy Hart, and guitarist Vic Juris. California State, University Fullerton's 2016-2017 Season Opens with ANNA IN THE TROPICS

Cal State Fullerton's 2016-2017 season opens with the 2003 Pulitzer Prize winner Anna in the Tropics, written by Nilo Cruz and directed by Fidel Gomez. Anna in the Tropics runs September 23-October 9 in the Young Theatre on campus.  This poetic play is set in a Cuban-American cigar factory in Florida in 1929 where cigars are rolled by hand while lectors entertain the workers and divert them from their monotonous jobs. The arrival of a new lector is a cause for celebration, but when he begins to read aloud from Anna Karenina, he unwittingly becomes a catalyst in the lives of his avid listeners, for whom Tolstoy, the tropics and the American dream prove a volatile combination. She has a sister, Mica Parks, who has a son named Micah Brown. She has another sister named Tesha Parks. She has one brother, Adrian Parks, who has one daughter, Adriana Parks. Vanessa grew up in Dayton, Ohio. She later moved to Richmond, Kentucky. She is married to Floyd Ballew. They have one daughter together named Arrie'l Ballew. Vanessa has a step daughter named Tiasha Hayden. Tiasha is married to Qareeb Hayden. They have two daughters whose names are Qareeana and Taniyah. In the four seasons since the Broadway in New Orleans series first launched, Broadway and Television's brightest lights have blazed a path to the Big Easy each season thanks to Producing Artistic Director Mark Cortale and Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky. In this, the series' fifth season in New Orleans, the star-powered tradition continues with Judy Kuhn, Tony-nominated star of "Fun Home" and Broadway's original Cosette in "Les Miserables" and the voice of Disney's "Pocahontas" on October 6 at 7:30 PM. She is followed by Gavin Creel, Olivier Award Winning star of She Loves Me and The Book of Mormon, on December 15 at 7:30 PM, and Adam Pascal, the original Roger in the Broadway blockbuster "Rent," as well as the London production, and the film version, on January 14, 2017 at 8:00 PM. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra And Cincinnati Pops Announce Two World Tours In 2017

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September. The Orchestra will be on tour for five total weeks in 2017, performing in 12 cities across seven different countries. (more...)
