The Garden of Dreams Foundation Hosts Third Annual GARDEN OF DREAMS WEEK 11/28 – 12/2

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is coming together with The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) and MSG Networks to host the third annual Garden of Dreams Week. From November 28 - December 2, children from across the tri-state area will enjoy once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including becoming honorary members of the Knicks and Rangers and participating in game-night activities, and learning choreography from the world-renowned Rockettes.  The week will also feature the distribution of 100 tablets to partner hospital organizations, made possible by a grant from Garden of Dreams to the enCourage Kids Foundation. CBS and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced today a new agreement that will keep the annual Kennedy Center Honors broadcast on CBS through 2025. Minnesota Orchestra Reports Fiscal 2016 Balanced Budget

The Minnesota Orchestra's 2016 Annual Meeting today celebrated the artistic and financial milestones of the Orchestra's 2015-16 season, a year in which the Orchestra returned to Carnegie Hall and Europe, completed its celebrated Sibelius symphonies recording cycle, launched a new education program for high school students—and achieved a balanced budget. Marilyn Carlson Nelson, who was announced as the Orchestra's Chair Elect in September, was elected Board Chair by the Orchestra's Board of Directors, succeeding Warren Mack, who completed a two-year term.  (more...)

Steep Theatre will present the first professional U.S. production of Tony nominee and Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's Earthquakes in London, opening January 26, 2017. Steep's production opens on the heels of another Chicago production of this enormously exciting playwright's work, the critically-acclaimed King Charles III at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Earthquakes will be helmed by one of Chicago's most exciting talents, Steep Ensemble Member and Jeff Award-winning director Jonathan Berry.  Berry recently directed Steppenwolf Theatre's Constellations, and, over The Years, has consistently produced some of Steep's most notable shows, including Season 15's Posh by Laura Wade, which won the Non-Equity Jeff Award for Best Ensemble, and was nominated for Best Director and Best Production.  (more...)
