Dr. Angela Chester New Book Exposes the Emotion of Breast Cancer, Stories of Survivorship Increase
by BWW News Desk - Oct 13, 2013

Dr. Angela Chester: ' As a fellow breast cancer survivor, I created 'My Life In Pink' (published by Lulu) to share these moving stories with as many women as possible. Ten spirited, brave and courageous women shared their time, their feelings, and their souls to tell their inspiring stories.' 'My Life in Pink' shares The Survivor stories of numerous women from various backgrounds and walks of life. Each woman shares her unique and encouraging story writing in her style. Every story brings about a different emotion, a different experience and a different attitude towards the fight for their lives. Reassuring. Empowering. Uplifting. An excerpt from page 48, 'My Life In Pink': 'Suddenly my life was turned upside down. At the age of 44 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I shared the angst of over 2.4 million women in the U.S. ... Why was this happening to me? What was I going to do? Who would care for my five children?' Why this book? No matter the age of the reader, those diagnosed with breast cancer will find reassurance by relating to others who have found their way through the maze of surviving cancer. An excerpt from page 108, 'My Life In Pink': 'Let us raise our glasses to every warrior in pink who has fought before us and won, and to those who did not. To every warrior in pink who is fighting right now this very moment. And to the hope and the dream and their reality of seeing the day when the color pink can go back to being just a color.' Today we are talking to an Emmy Award-winning actor perhaps most well-known for his title role in the iconic and ground-breaking millennial NBC sitcom hit, WILL & GRACE, who can now be seen eight times a week on Broadway playing a pivotal role in the starry revival of Gore Vidal's politically-themed satire, THE BEST MAN - the affable Eric McCormack. Shining a spotlight on his theatrical roots at the Straford Shakespeare Festival in Canada all the way up to his small-screen sensation in WILL & GRACE and, now, his forthcoming new dramatic series, PERCEPTION, McCormack illustrates all aspects of his career and generously offers his insights, observations and shares his lessons learned over the course of his near-thirty-year career onstage and onscreen. In addition to all of that, McCormack outlines his experiences sharing the stage with titanic talents such as James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergin and the rest of the ensemble of THE BEST MAN, as well as sharing his thoughts about the relevance and poignancy of the play today, more than a half decade after its premiere, and what it says about our society, then and now, in addition to expanding on the play's pertinent political themes and their exploration in the classic drama. Plus, McCormack clues us in on his own favorite plays and musicals, initial theatrical inspiration, his stint portraying the eponymous THE MUSIC MAN, future career plans and first news about his new TNT series, PERCEPTION - all of that and much, much more! Purpose, as Tony has felt and carried it, has been driven in many opposing directions by the many forces let loose by belief or dogma, by political movement and religion-in his journey, it has been a painful time inside what he calls the 'vortex,' a confused state he likens to being Richard Condon's 'Manchurian Candidate.'
