Photo Flash: Sierra Repertory Theatre Presents THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM
by BWW News Desk - Sep 16, 2016

A rousing, bawdy Southern fairytale from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy, with one of the only genuine bluegrass scores ever heard in a Broadway musical. Set in eighteenth century Mississippi, the show follows Jamie Lockhart, a rascally robber of the woods, as he courts Rosamund, the only daughter of the richest planter in the country. The proceedings go awry, however, thanks to a case of double-mistaken identity. Throw in an evil stepmother, intent on Rosamund's demise, and her pea-brained henchman, and you have a rollicking country romp. With its distinct sound, colorful cast and unique form of storytelling, The Robber Bridegroom is a hidden gem! (more...)

BWW Review: Tony Winner Patti LuPone Returns to the OC with COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA
by Michael L. Quintos - Sep 12, 2016

PLAYED THAT PART, which played to a packed house at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa this past Friday, September 9. For her one-night-only return to the OC (part of the Center's 30th Anniversary offerings), Ms. LuPone was armed with a songbook of both showtunes she wishes she would have sung on Broadway and showtunes she herself made famous. (more...)
