Inspired by the classic Victor Hugo novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame has a book by Peter Parnell, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Students from Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) recently showcased their outstanding musical theatre abilities at the 10th nationwide Junior Theater Festival, January 16 - 18. A total of 4,800 students from 26 states, the District of Columbia and two countries participated in the celebration of musical theatre presented by iTheatrics at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, Georgia. "I had the great pleasure of witnessing the HSMT students' superb artistic talent and an incredible standing ovation of 4,800 of their peers when their performance in the New Works Showcase was complete. I am proud that TUTS has the Humphreys School and am in awe of its accomplishments," said Bob Lawson, TUTS' Director of Education. (more...)

Directed by Academy Award nominee and two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor, GROUNDED marks the return to the Public Theater stage for Hathaway who played Viola in the 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night.
