Mercury Research Reveals Mobile Payment Adoption Interest High with America's Local Merchants

Key findings from the research demonstrate that merchants want to adopt mobile payments but prefer minimal or no point-of-sale (POS) system upgrades and they want the process to be easy. A majority of merchants are on board to adopt mobile payments within the next two to three years, and most respondents indicated they would rely on their technology or payment provider to implement a mobile solution. Additionally, nearly 40 percent of merchants find value-added services very important and most respondents are already using value-added services or have interest in deploying. (more...)

Richmond Ballet Announces 2015 Tour to China

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe is pleased to announce that Richmond Ballet, The State Ballet of Virginia, has accepted an invitation to perform at the 15th Annual 'Meet in Beijing' Arts Festival in Beijing, China at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in May of 2015. The trip will mark the Ballet's first journey to Asia, and the organization's second international tour, following a successful run at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre in London, England in June of 2012. The Ballet's Road to China initiative will also include a series of cultural exchange programs that plans to celebrate Chinese culture in the United States throughout the 2014-15 season, and will foster further economic ties between China and the United States. Gillespie Concert Organ and dino-mite music performed by Pacific Symphony combine with authentic footage from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) to create a family-fun musical expedition into the prehistoric world of "Dinosaurs!" Presented by Farmers and Merchants Bank, this Family Musical Mornings concert features a 66-pound dinosaur puppet, plus videos and still images of dinosaurs, fossils and paleontologists at work, provided by the NHM. Filled with dinosaur-inspired music, children and families are guided by paleontologist Dr. Olivia Mattis (Bree Burgess Rosen) and her young assistant Sammy (Coleton Ray) in a hunt for clues in the music to reveal the identity of a mystery dinosaur. Horton believes, and this company proves, that a person's a person no matter how small.
