THE ODD COUPLE, 'The Ghostwriter' Guest Star Geoff Stults, (2/26) Recapping LIVE!THE ODD COUPLE, 'The Ghostwriter' Guest Star Geoff Stults, (2/26) Recapping LIVE!
by Dylan Siegman - Feb 26, 2015

Last week we met the latest reincarnation of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger played by Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon, respectively. While their characters have almost nothing in common, the two actors do - they are both absolutely hilarious. However, being funny isn't the only thing that keeps a show from getting cancelled, so only time will tell if this new version will stand the test of time. Both characters couldn't be further on the sides of the spectrum, which I imagine was done on purpose in order to show the change that occurs in both characters. This week, guest star Geoff Stults (WEDDING CRASHERS, ENLISTED) plays a retired baseball player who hires Oscar to ghostwrite his autobiography, which Felix then offers to help with. Tune in tonight to see what these two get into! (more...)

BWW Reviews: Falling In Love With BCCM'S MY ROMANCE!BWW Reviews: Falling In Love With BCCM'S MY ROMANCE!
by Dylan Siegman - Feb 26, 2015

As a team, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz (Larry) Hart found Broadway fame while in their twenties. Though their talents as composer and lyricist complimented one another brilliantly, their working methods and personalities couldn't have been more different. Rodgers's strict work ethic and Hart's casual and tragically self-destructive attitude eventually led to the end of their creative partnership which, in turn, resulted in Rodgers's legendary collaborations with Oscar Hammerstein. After seeing Bayou Concert City Musicals' production of their latest revue, My Romance: The Rodgers and Hart Songbook, I was inspired to not only revisit the songs that were performed, but to delve further into the career of one of Broadway's greatest, if somewhat tumultuous partnerships. Pacific Symphony to Offer World Premiere Violin Concerto Performance, 3/12Pacific Symphony to Offer World Premiere Violin Concerto Performance, 3/12
by BWW News Desk - Feb 26, 2015

Orange County, Calif.—Feb. 25, 2015—An evening of profound emotion and beautiful introspection takes place when Pacific Symphony performs “Tchaikovsky's Pathétique,” a concert of deep personal meaning to Music Director Carl St.Clair during his 25th anniversary season. In January 1990, St.Clair auditioned to become the Symphony's maestro, and it was Tchaikovsky's eloquent and impassioned Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique,” that forged a connection between him and the orchestra—making this piece a must for his 25th season. Centering the program is the Symphony-commissioned violin concerto written by eight-time Academy Award-nominated composer James Newton Howard and performed by Grammy Award-winning violinist James Ehnes. Howard structured the second movement around a child's melody and dedicated it to the memory of St.Clair's first son, Cole Carsan St.Clair. The performance is being recorded live for CD release along with Howard's first Symphony-commissioned work, “I Would Plant a Tree” (2009), furthering St.Clair's and the Symphony's endeavor to support the works of living composers.
