One of the most eagerly awaited new shows of this year's New York Musical Festival (NYMF) is the special event 'Midnight at the Never Get' which will be presented at 42WEST (514 West 42nd Street) for three (3) performances: Thursday, July 28 @ 9pm; Sunday, July 31 @ 9pm; Monday, August 1 @ 8pm. Produced by Michael Chase Gosselin, the musical is conceived by and starring Sam Bolen and Mark Sonnenblick, with musical direction and arrangements by Adam Podd, choreography by Andrew Palermo and directed by Max Friedman. Audiences will be transformed back to 1965 when they enter the venue to the back room of The Never Get.  Featuring a sultry score fashioned after the American Songbook, 'Midnight at The Never Get' imagines two men who never existed at a time that very much did. If you belong to a particular subset of music aficionados, you may love this show. Vocally and instrumentally, the performers do an excellent job of animating beloved legends.Their musicianship is impressive and Musical Director Amy Jones has done a terrific job creating authentic-sounding renditions of well-known songs. JP Coletta's athletic interpretation of Jerry Lee is absurdly fun to watch. As Elvis, Travis Artz is enthusiastic and delivers excellent footwork. Adding some feminine energy to the show, Elvis' girlfriend 'Dyanne,' portrayed by Bella Muller in a saucy, sultry performance, blows the audience away singing 'Fever.' (more...)

'Mother (and me)' tells the auto-biographical tale of a larger-than-life Hungarian 'Mama Rose' and her 'Broadway baby' as they experience a shifting dynamic in their relationship. This hilariously honest solo show won the 'Best of Fest' award at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival, and was originally developed and produced by Barabara Whitman Productions.
