William Partlan's craftsmanship and reverential interpretation of Arthur Miller's THE PRICE, now featured at Theatre Artists Studio, makes for a compelling and emotionally taut experience. BWW Review: Singer TORY STOLPER Brings Her Original Journey to Sterling's
by Don Grigware - Oct 18, 2016

My favorite part of the evening was the inclusion of the standards all of which are nicely suited to Stolper's voice and delivery. They were Sondheim's 'Move On' from Sunday in the Park with George. a gorgeous rendition of 'Something Good' sung originally by Julie Andrews in the film The Sound of Music, and lastly Carole King's 'Beautiful', all adding uber positive touches to Stolper's creative and personal journey thus far. She concluded as she had begun with Peter Pan, only this time with Scott Alan's lovely contemporary perspective  'Never Never Land (Fly Away)'.  (more...)

Invoking Barbra, Judy and a host of other mononymous musical divas, Anneliese van der Pol came to play during her solo show at Feinstein's/54 Below on September 29. Physical activity and exercise are good for you - at every age. For older adults, being physically active is vital to health and the ability to remain independent. Even those who are frail or suffer from the ailments and disabilities common among elders can improve their health with moderate levels of activity. 'Exercise is medicine,' says Elizabeth Landsverk, MD, founder of ElderConsult Geriatric Medicine. 'It can help you control your body weight, your blood pressure and your cholesterol levels. Today's subjects are living their theatre lives overseeing the nightly operations for one of the most ambitious productions the area has ever seen. BWW Review: RUN, 2 FACED DANCE, Dance Xchange, 14 October 2016

2 Faced Dance Company's Run is an evening of dance presented by three female choreographers, featuring three new works from the company's artistic director Tamsin Fitzgerald, Prague-based Lenka Vagnerova and the first BENCH commission recipient Rebecca Evans. All three pieces - danced by 2 Faced Dance's all-male company - explore human choice and our decision to take Flight or fight the darker side of humanity. BWW Review: THE GAZA MONOLOGUES Moves (and Moves With) the Audience at Peñasco Theater
by Devon Hoffman - Oct 14, 2016

In the mountain village of Peñasco, New Mexico, to an audience of youth and adults where everyone seemed to know each other, four actors (two of them, teenagers) performed powerfully a style of theater that I had never seen before-yet which seemed so natural, an organic expression of that unique community. The theater has harvested its strengths-acrobatics and circus camps for youth, collaborations with multiple artistic communities locally and abroad, political activism-for a fresh version of a popular show: The Gaza Monologues, 31 personal stories written by Palestinian youth who lived through the '08-'09 war on Gaza.
