Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) has announced initial casting and leadership for their concert performance of Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton's musical comedy The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Take a journey to the past with the stars of Anastasia this week! Following Thursday night's curtain call, the show's stars Christy Altomare and Zach Adkins will return onstage for a special performance of the beloved song 'At the Beginning' from the 1997 animated film.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley launched the cast album for The Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga at an exclusive release party at OPAL Night Club in Mountain View on Monday. LUCKY STIFF is a musical farce with lyrics and libretto by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty, that is notable historically for several things. To begin with, It was the first collaboration for the team whose later collaborations include Ragtime and Once On This Island. It was created and performed at Playwrights Horizons off-Broadway in 1988, and won the Richard Rodgers Award for that year. LUCKY STIFF is based on a 1983 novel The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth. It received a full production in London's West End in 1997 but, to date, has never had a Broadway production. In 2015, a film version was created but it has only been seen at film festivals.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is honored to have received two Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards at the April 23rd ceremony held in Brookline, Massachusetts for the critically acclaimed 2017 production of Ragtime. I have seen Ragtime the Musical a half dozen times since it premiered in LA in 1997 prior to Broadway and...have never tired of it. Why? First, its simply gorgeous almost opera-like musical score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens moves me to tears. Secondly, it presents elements of pop culture mixed in with the meaningful historical content of America at the turn of the 20th century, making it the most relevant show in the last 25 years. Now by means of Candlelight's revival production, onstage in Claremont through February 24, Ragtime continues to enlighten and enchant simultaneously.
