'The album features her energetic blends of hard-hitting instrumentals, operatic vocals, and raw, incendiary lyrics which gives her music a theatrical flair and helps elevate its urgency.

This fall, cello soloist Maya Beiser and composer/conductor Evan Ziporyn embark on a U.S. tour with Ziporyn's Ambient Orchestra, bringing Bowie Symphonic: Blackstar to the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA (Friday, October 12); the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, VT (Saturday, October 13), Bass Concert Hall presented by Texas Performing Arts in Austin, TX (Thursday, November 1), and Bing Concert Hall presented by Stanford Live in Stanford, CA (Wednesday, November 7). Bowie Symphonic: Blackstar is a startling and soaring new version of David Bowie's entire last album Blackstar for solo cello and orchestra. Arranged for Beiser by Ziporyn, who will also conduct Ambient Orchestra, Bowie Symphonic: Blackstar has been performed to capacity audiences in Boston, Barcelona, and New York City's Central Park SummerStage. For the fall tour, Ambient Orchestra is joined by musicians from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. 

An Evening with Tony Award Nominee Andrea McArdle is set for Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City on Thursday, October 11, at 7:30, The Purple Room in Palm Springs on Friday, October 12, at 8pm, and for Martinis Above Fourth in San Diego on Saturday, October 13, at 7pm, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents.

Critically acclaimed Toronto band Born Ruffians are premiering their upcoming fifth studio album Uncle, Duke & The Chief at Billboard. The record is due February 16 on Yep Roc Records. Most recently, the band premiered the video for the single “Miss You,” the third in a video trilogy starring frontman Luke Lalonde and directed by Leah Fay Goldstein and Peter Dreimanis of July Talk. It follows the videos for the tracks “Love Too Soon” and “Forget Me.”
