I was invited to attend Orpheus Musical Theatre's opening night performance of Falsettos at the Gladstone Theatre. Falsettos was originally performed on Broadway in 1992, where it was nominated for seven Tony Awards and won two. It was then revived to high acclaim in 2016, where it was nominated for five Tonys, including Best Revival of a Musical. The story is set in 1979, at a time when a family unit was deemed to consist of a man, a woman and one or more children. A wife was expected to keep the house clean, prepare meals and offer up sex whenever her husband wanted it. Anything outside of this traditional family unit would have been considered abnormal.

Richmond Triangle Players launches its 2019-20 season with the Tony-Award winning musical Falsettos, opening Friday September 6, 2019, at 8 pm, following two low-priced previews on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5 at 8 pm. The production will run five weeks, through Saturday, October 5.

Overall, FALSETTOS makes a strong impression at Kennedy Center and is most definitely worth the trip.

Glenn Close was hosting and Patti LuPone was presenting and I was not moving from my seat on the couch until I had a ranked list of the shows I wanted to see when I got to New York to visit my grandparents for Thanksgiving.

Being the theatre fan that I am, was beyond ecstatic when I read that the Eden Espinosa would be in the production. The League of Chicago Theatres held the 2018 Annual Gala, an elegant event that brings together friends of Chicago theatre to raise funds for programs to support Chicagoland's more than 250-member theatre companies. The event, which had 245 attendees and raised $125,000, was held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, 120 E. Delaware Place.
