San Francisco-based Smuin Contemporary Ballet, poised to celebrate its 30th Anniversary, has announced that Amy Seiwert will be joining leadership of the company next season as Associate Artistic Director.

Smuin Contemporary Ballet’s season finale is headlined by soaring works that highlight the company’s artistry and depth of talent, including the latest world premiere from acclaimed choreographer Amy Seiwert.

Arts, community, and civic leaders came together to celebrate Smuin Contemporary Ballet at its Annual Gala, hosted by co-chairs and Smuin trustees John Konstin and Lee D. Baxter, along with fellow Board of Trustee members and the Friends of Smuin committee.

Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of Not About Me, written and directed by acclaimed playwright Eduardo Machado. Not About Me will begin previews Friday January 13th with Opening Night set for Wednesday January 18th.

While the series' recurring cast includes Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Donnie Wahlberg, and more, guest stars have included Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Joanna Gleason, Adrienne Warren, Jinkx Monsoon, Norm Lewis, Norbert Leo Butz, and more. The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors announced today, as a departure from the annual awards ceremony, will present a one-night only virtual event to honor Broadways best with a Special Gala Award Benefit to help raise funds for the prestigious Theatre World Awards.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company announced today that applications for the seventeenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters are now available. Applications will be accepted from June 1 - June 30, 2021. The winner will be selected in November of 2021.
