Lisa Wolpe to Bring SHAKESPERIENCES to HERE

Fresh off a successful international tour, actress Lisa Wolpe - hailed for her dynamic, gender-bending turns as some of Shakespeare's most popular characters - has announced she will bring her groundbreaking, one-woman show Shakespeare and the Alchemy of Gender to HERE for 16 performances, July 16th through August 14th. The show will play in repertory with Macbeth3, Wolpe's celebrated three-actor adaptation of the Scottish play, in which she plays the title role, Nick Salamone plays Lady Macbeth and Satan, and Mary Hodges plays Duncan, the Porter, Banquo, and MacDuff. Santa Cruz Shakespeare Raises $1.1 Million for New Outdoor Theater

Santa Cruz Shakespeare (SCS) is pleased to announce that it surpassed its initial goal of raising $1 million to fund its new outdoor theater: The Grove at DeLaveaga Park. The total revenue raised to date is $1,107,273.41. This includes gifts received, as well as outstanding written pledges, which will be paid by donors over three years. (more...)

BWW Interview: Playwright Phoebe Eclair-Powell on Modern Medea FURY

She's worked with the National Youth Theatre on their Epic Stages programme, and her debut play WINK premiered at Theatre503 last year. Next up is FURY, shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award and winner of the 2015 Soho Theatre Young Writer's Award.
