Today, GRAMMY Award-winning Catalyst Quartet releases UNCOVERED Volume 2: Florence B. Price on Azica Records.

Sarasota Orchestra’s February programs include two Masterworks concerts featuring Grammy Award-winning performers and richly orchestrated, dazzlingly popular works from the 19th century through today. The fourth installment of the Great Escapes series brings Valentine’s Day-themed fare, and a Chamber Soirée entitled “Voices of Color” offers an opportunity to explore music by several Black composers.

On Friday, February 4, 2022, GRAMMY Award-winning Catalyst Quartet will release UNCOVERED Volume 2: Florence B. Price on Azica Records. The album is the second issue of a multi-volume anthology highlighting string quartet works by historically important Black composers which aims to bring greater awareness and programming of their music.

The second ACA Cinema Project series will present Flash Forward: Debut Works and Recent Films by Notable Japanese Directors, a hybrid program with 18 films streaming nationwide on Japan Society's Virtual Cinema from December 3-23, 2021 and two in-person screenings in Japan Society's auditorium on December 11 and 17.

The Civilians is presenting the newest members of The R&D Group, marking the Group’s 11th season. The R&D Group is comprised of playwrights, composers, and directors who work together as a writing group for nine months to develop new plays and musicals.

And as a fan of Cole Porter’s music but not knowing anything about his wife or their life together, I wanted to find out a bit more about the production, especially what led Deborah Robin to take on the role.

Jobsite revels in the strange, the unorthodox, the Masterclass of all things twisted and warped; and these are some centralized moments of Shockheaded Peter or its namesake Der Struwwelpeter. Having personally never heard of Der Struwwelpeter or William Maloney’s The Worst of Everything, I had no idea what I was in store for. Which made this particular show more zany, exciting, and mentally stimulating than most seen as of late. From every angle, there was something to watch, something to leave our mouths agape and make you just think what the hell?
