The Flat Rock Playhouse 2018 season continues by bringing audiences another hit musical theater experience, Broadway on the Rock, running July 6th - July 21st on the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. The summer and fall of 1960 saw Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller struggle with a deteriorating marriage on set of The Misfits. Her crippling drug abuse and illicit affairs with her co-stars lead the two to divorce officially right before the film's premiere in 1961.

Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their 2018-2019 season would kick off in September with a new performance home, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. "For the first time, we will perform our entire season at the 1900 Building as we adore performing in their wonderful spaces," said Ioudenitch. The York Theatre Company presents the 1961 Broadway musical Subways Are for Sleeping with music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, suggested by the book by Edmund G. Love, the final show in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of the legendary composer Jule Styne. Directed by Stuart Ross, and with music direction by David Hancock Turner, the cast features Karl Josef Co, David Engel, Beth Glover, David Josefsberg, Alyse Alan Louis, Kathryn McCreary, Gerry McIntyre, Gina Milo, Eric William Morris, and Kilty Reidy.

Does anybody have a map... to Canada? Producer Stacey Mindich just announced that she will partner with Canadian producer David Mirvish to present the first international production of the Tony & Grammy Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, which will play Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre beginning in March 2019. The original Broadway production team - including Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson (Book), and four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Direction) - will reunite to launch this production.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, has announced the cast of the 1961 Broadway musical Subways Are for Sleeping with music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the final show in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of the legendary composer Jule Styne. Performances are set to begin Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2018 for 11 performances only through Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Sunday evening, February 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

Little Angel Theatre Presents THE SINGING MERMAID, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Lydia Monks, in collaboration with Royal & Derngate this spring. One day, the singing mermaid is tempted away from all of her sea creature friends and her peaceful home at Silversands to join a travelling circus. The audiences love to hear her sing, but the poor mermaid was tricked! Instead of the swimming pool she was promised, she is kept in a small tank by the wicked circus master Sam Sly, and she soon longs to return to the freedom of the sea.

Producer Jan McArt, director of theatre arts program development, and Jon Robertson, dean of Lynn University's Conservatory of Music and Philharmonia guest conductor, today announced the upcoming collaborative staged concert version of Jerry Herman's first Broadway musical, Milk and Honey, about two different love stories during the early days of Israel.

Burt Bacharach and Hal David, whose pop songs pretty much defined the mid-to-late 1960s and early 1970s, only wrote one Broadway show, Promises, Promises. There may have been many reasons for the success of the show. With stellar turns by Marcelo Medici as the big-corporation employee whose idea on how to get ahead in business consists of lending his bachelor apartment to his married bosses, and by Malu Rodrigues as the cafeteria waitress with whom he falls in love even though she is having an affair with the personnel director, and with Alonso Barros in charge of choreography and Claudio Botelho & Charles M eller directing, the musical proves that it is still as fresh and vibrant as it was when it was first created, opening in Brazil now, 50 years after his debut on Broadway.

Last seen in the Playhouse's 2017 hit, Music of the Night: The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber, LeMonnier joins the Music on the Rock band for a night full of his favorite love songs, especially for you and yours. Tony Award winner Jim Dale and Tony nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Robert Cuccioli headline in HERE'S LOVE TO THE MUSIC MAN: A Celebration of Songwriter Meredith Willson, the opening event of The Ziegfeld Society's ninth Season, honoring the 60th Anniversary of THE MUSIC MAN which received the 1958 Tony Award for Best Musical, and its legendary creator, Meredith Willson.
