Full Cast Announced for Lisa Kron's WELL at Seattle Rep

Seattle Repertory Theatre announces the complete cast of its upcoming production of Tony Award-winning writer Lisa Kron's (Fun Home) funny and brilliant play Well, set to star beloved Seattle talents Barbara Dirickson and Sarah Rudinoff. Well is dark comedy at its finest and is being directed by Seattle Rep Artistic Director Braden Abraham.

The play is currently in previews, set to open on Wednesday, February 15 and run through March 5, 2017. Tickets are on sale now through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206. 443.2222 and online at seattlerep.org.

The complete casting for Well features Gregory and Genius Award-winning local actor Sarah Rudinoff as Lisa Kron; long-time beloved Seattle-to-Los Angeles actor Barbara Dirickson as Ann Kron, Lisa's mother; Chantal DeGroat as herself and others; Reginald André Jackson as himself and others; Adrian LaTourelle as himself and others; Liz McCarthy as herself and others; and Emma Blessing as Lori Jones.

Lisa Kron, the multi-talented humorist, performer, playwright, and Tony Award-winning writer and lyricist behind the recent Broadway hit Fun Home takes us on a hilarious, self-referential journey that explores everything from chronic allergies, to community organizing, and most importantly, to her zany, unpredictable relationship with her mother.

The creative team includes G.W. Skip Mercier, scenic design; Deb Trout, costume design; L.B. Morse, lighting design; Matt Starritt, sound design; Stina Lotti, Stage Manager.

Performances run February 10 - March 5, 2017. Performance times: Wednesday-Sunday and select Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and select Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday matinees at 2:00 p.m. (no matinees during previews). Opening night is Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. All shows play Seattle Repertory Theatre's Bagley Wright Theatre, located at Seattle Center at the corner of Second Ave. and Mercer St., Seattle, Washington.

ABOUT THE CAST:

Sarah Rudinoff (Lisa Kron)

Known as an actress, writer, and singer, Sarah has been making theatrical work in Seattle for 20 years. She is thrilled to be back at Seattle Rep where she was last seen 10 years ago in Jeffrey Hatcher's Murderers. Sarah has performed numerous roles at The 5th Avenue Theatre, most recently as Smitty in How to Succeed in Business, for which she won a Gregory Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Rudinoff has acted on stages around the city from Annex to Re-bar and her original work was recently featured in collaboration with composer Chris Jeffries as part of Genius/21 Century/Seattle at Frye Art Museum. Sarah sings with the burlesque extravaganza "House of Thee Unholy" at the Triple Door, she has hosted "RuPaul's Drag Race" viewing parties with BenDeLaCreme, appears in as many Wes Hurley film projects as she can (Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel, Capitol Hill Season 2), has created new work with photographer Steven Miller for the City Arts produced Genre Bender, and with collaborators Gretta Harley and Elizabeth Kenny co-created These Streets at ACT, a theatrical work and online historical archive featuring the stories and music of women musicians during the grunge era in Seattle. Sarah's solo shows include: Broad; Go There; The Last State; and her latest solo work NowNowNow which premiered last March at On the Boards. Sarah has a Stranger Genius Award in Performance.

Barbara Dirickson (Ann Kron)

Barbara is delighted to be back in Seattle where she worked at the Rep, Intiman, and ACT. Shows include Playboy of The Western World, Molly Sweeny, Sylvia, The Price, Private Lives, Six Degrees of Separation, Inspecting Carol, Tartuffe, Full Gallop, Shadowlands, Arcadia, The Royal Family, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Before Seattle, Barbara spent fifteen years with A.C.T. in San Francisco, and did several shows at San Diego's Old Globe. Now in Los Angeles, she works for Disney, voicing the character of Flora from Sleeping Beauty. She has been in Disney's series "Sophia the First" and she also did Kung Fu Panda 3.

Emma Blessing (Lori Jones)

Making her Seattle Rep debut, Emma recently appeared in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at Seattle Public Theater; other shows at Seattle Public Theater include The Echo Maiden, Maggie's Diner, and Speak. Emma attends Lakeside School where she has appeared in numerous shows such as Twelfth Night, 9 to 5 the musical, A Midsummers Night Dream, and On the Throne. She has also appeared in 14:48/HS twice and is now on the board. Before moving to Seattle, Emma appeared in shows at the Manitou Springs Arts Academy in Colorado.

Chantal DeGroat (herself and others)

A recent transplant from Portland, Chantal is a company member with Third Rail Rep. Local: Intiman, Hansberry Project, Seattle Rep's The Other Season. Portland theatres: Portland Center Stage, Artists Rep, Third Rail Rep, Profile Theatre, Portland Playhouse, Badass Theatre. Grateful to teach with: The August Wilson Red Door Proejct, Portland Center Stage (Shakespeare outreach), and Exeter University in England. Training: Shakespeare & Company (Lenox), Emerson College (Boston). Chantal is Founder and Artistic Director of social justice/arts organization The Color of NOW.

Reginald André Jackson (himself and others)

MR. Jackson was last seen at Seattle Rep as James Bevel in The Great Society. Previous to that, he appeared here in Inspecting Carol, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Romeo & Juliet, and The Cider House Rules Pt. II. He has also worked with Intiman, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, ACT, Artists Repertory Theatre, ArtsWest, and Seattle Shakespeare Company, among others. As a playwright, he is the recipient of the American Alliance of Theatre & Education's Distinguished Play Award for his adaptation of Christopher Paul Curtis' novel Bud, Not Buddy.

Adrian LaTourelle (himself and others)

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Adrian LaTourelle returns home to Seattle to be part of this production. His stage credits include work in theatres such as the Mark Taper Forum, Shakespeare Theatre Company in D.C., The Old Globe, San Jose Rep, Dallas Theater Center, Antaeus Theatre Company, and Yale Repertory Theatre. Adrian has appeared in numerous television series such as "NCIS," "Castle," "The Legend of Korra," "Last Resort," "The Closer," "House," "NCIS:LA," "Boston Legal," "Without a Trace," "Criminal Minds," "Numbers," and "Sons of Anarchy." Adrian has also worked abroad, performing in theatre and film in Russia and the Netherlands.

Liz McCarthy (herself and others)

Liz last appeared at Seattle Rep in Living Out in 2004. Longtime Rep patrons may remember her from Over the Moon, Boy Gets Girl, The Last True Believer, Wit, Dancing at Lughnasa (with Barbara Dirickson), The Real Inspector Hound, and Bill Irwin's Seattle Experiments. Elsewhere in Seattle, she has performed at the 5th Avenue (most recently in A Christmas Story: the Musical); ACT Theatre (Absurd Person Singular, Wintertime, Mourning Becomes Electra, A Christmas Carol, The Odd Couple, The Crimson Thread, Handing Down the Names, Keely and Du, Dreams from a Summer House, The Cover of Life), Intiman Theatre (Crumbs from the Table of Joy, Private Lives, The Taming of the Shrew), and regionally at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, C.T. (Mourning Becomes Electra), Missouri Repertory Theatre (The Philadelphia Story), Houston's Alley Theatre (Wit), Milwaukee Repertory Theatre (The School for Wives, A Christmas Carol), and Arizona Theatre Company (Dreams from a Summer House, Over the Moon).

About Braden Abraham (Director)

Braden Abraham serves as Artistic Director at Seattle Rep. His directing credits for the Rep include Rebecca Gilman's Luna Gale, Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge, Laura Schellhardt's The Comparables, Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Samuel D. Hunter's A Great Wilderness, Anna Ziegler's Photograph 51, Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park, Michael Hollinger's Opus, Harold Pinter's Betrayal, Melissa James Gibson's This, Laura Schellhardt's The K of D, an urban legend, Breakin' Hearts and Takin' Names by Kevin Kling and Simone Perrin, and My Name is Rachel Corrie, adapted by Alan Rickman and Katherine Viner. Other directing credits include Marya Sea Kaminski's Riddled (Richard Hugo House), Tommy Smith's White Hot (Marxiano Productions, West of Lenin), Laura Schellhardt's The K of D, an urban legend (Pistol Cat Productions, FringeNYC Encore Series, Illusion Theater), Paul Mullin's The Ten Thousand Things (Washington Ensemble Theatre), and Vincent Delaney's Kuwait (Theatre Schmeater). He has been a guest artist at Stanford University, Gonzaga University, the University of Idaho, and Seattle University. Braden holds a B.A. from Western Washington University.

Seattle Rep was founded in 1963 and is currently led by Artistic Director Braden Abraham and Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann. One of America's premier not-for-profit resident theatres, Seattle Repertory Theatre has achieved international renown for its consistently high production and artistic standards, and was awarded the 1990 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre.
