On your mark, get set, bake! Jet City Improv invites audiences to gather under the big tent on the lawn for BRITAIN'S BAKING CHALLENGE, a playful new comedy inspired by The Great British Baking Showfeaturing real baking on stage as four actors whisk, knead, and pour themselves into a dish suggested by the audience before subjecting their work to the sophisticated scrutiny of the judges.

While viewers of the hit PBS show will recognize the familiar British civility among the contestants, this improvised bake-off ups the difficulty by requiring all four competing characters to first gather a theme for their delicacy from a member of the audience before even turning on their ovens. The unpredictable nature of these interactions means every performance is sure to contain all new twists and turnovers as the cooks prove they have what it takes to win both the affection of the crowd and the praise of the judges. The contestant that can maintain their modesty and plate their pastry without disaster will take the cake and be named the winner of Britain's Baking Challenge - until the next performance, of course.

The ensemble cast features company members Nathan Cox, Alison Luhrs, Laura Turner and Douglas Willott alongside MJ Jurgensen and Michelle Wen making their Jet City Improv debut. BRITAIN'S BAKING CHALLENGE was created by Nathan Cox and Alison Luhrs and is directed by Elicia Wickstead.

Performances are Thursday and Friday nights at 8pm from Jan 12 to Feb 10 with a special opening night gala on Jan 12featuring a Q&A with the actors followed by complimentary cake (baked by a professional before the show) and champagne. Advance tickets to all performances are $15 for general admission ($18 at the door), $12 for students, seniors, military personnel, and TPS members ($15 at the door), and $10 on Thursdays ($15-$18 at the door). This show is appropriate for all ages but may contain some cheeky language and themes.

BRITAIN'S BAKING CHALLENGE is a part of Jet City Improv Presents, an ongoing series of new ensemble works that present improvised stories complete with sets, costumes, and props like a traditional scripted performance. Despite a more polished appearance, the art and spirit of improvisation still lie at the heart of each performance and every story is created based on unique suggestions and input provided by the audience.
