Faux Theatre's beautifully poignant exploration of love and infatuation, Torn, will embark on a Scottish tour in May 2015 following a critically acclaimed world premiere at last year's Manipulate Festival.

Performed by Francisca Morton, Torn marries elements of visual theatre and puppetry to bring to life a textless story of lost love and regret laced with both humour and despair.

Accompanied on-stage only by foley artist and composer Barney Strachen and a collection of crumpled love letters, Morton's silent protagonist reflects on her past through an exploration of fantasy and reality, merging memories with the present. As she pines for her lost love- wonderfully represented on stage by a filled-out pair of jeans- the audience follow the pyjama-clad character as she delves deeper into her subconscious, through euphoric fantasy into the depths of despair.

Alongside Morton's vivid central performance, Torn uses the medium of paper to explore ideas of tactility and emptiness and challenge concepts of silence and sound, conjuring an intimate, wordless world where the audience become voyeurs to one woman's journey to find and experience love. Torn is a theatrical exploration of sensory textures that is not to be missed.
