This spring, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) presents Uninhibited About Sex, a new series of programming that will explore the multifaceted topic of sex with a selection of Arts & Ideas programs and workshops. The series dares to push conventional boundaries with a thoughtfully curated lineup that celebrates the pride of the City offering a dose of Jewish wisdom and encouraging curiosity. Demonstrating a positive and holistic view on the topic of sex, the programming for Uninhibited includes a broad range of presenters and formats: from a bawdy storytelling show and live seduction music, to lectures from a well-known sex advice columnist, an animal reproduction zoologist, a thought-leader on human interaction and an Internet scientist on Googling sex. The series celebrates the totality of wellness, and is sure to be entertaining, inspiring, amusing and even a little bit spicy.

"Being located in the middle of such a progressive City, the JCCSF has become an ideal space for the community to explore topics that matter," said Barbara Lane, Director of Arts & Ideas at the JCCSF. "We want to share the value that safe and consensual sex is fundamentally healthy, pleasurable and Jewish. This allows Uninhibited to explore a topic that is universally relevant, but often complicated, emotional, political and sensational."

Performances include Take it Off! The New Burlesque (March 18), Bawdy Storytelling: True Stories of Sexual Adventure (March 24) and UnderCover Presents: Under the Covers, A Night of Intimacy and Love Songs (April 16). Lectures and discussions include The Big O: Women and Sexual Desire (April 5), A Celebration of Animal Reproduction (April 21), Googling Sex (May 2), and Sex, Jews and Videotape (May 31), as well as renowned experts Dan Savage and Esther Perel. Arts & Ideas tickets begin at $27 and are available at www.jccsf.org/arts.

While the JCCSF remains committed to offering programming for people of all ages, the majority of the Uninhibited series is intended for adult audiences. In order to broaden the series' community reach, JCCSF will invite local non-profit organizations to participate in various educational opportunities. The JCCSF is also offering a social justice leadership and volunteer opportunity in which teens will have the opportunity to become sex-positive peer educators through a program with advice columnist Dan Savage. Select high school students will participate in three learning sessions with guest educators on subjects including healthy relationship communication and boundary setting, reproductive health and legislation and peer sexual health education. The students will also meet with Savage and will become ambassadors on advocating for yourself in healthy relationships, sharing what they've learned with their schools and communities.

In addition to the Arts & Ideas programming, JCCSF invites the community to keep pushing boundaries with workshops that explore the holistic side of sex, from Tantric Yoga to Sex After 50. For more information about workshops visit https://www.jccsf.org/arts-ideas/uninhibited.
