This spring, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) presents Uninhibited About Sex, a new series of programming that will explore the multifaceted topic of sex with a selection of Arts & Ideas programs and workshops. The series dares to push conventional boundaries with a thoughtfully curated lineup that celebrates the pride of the City offering a dose of Jewish wisdom and encouraging curiosity. Demonstrating a positive and holistic view on the topic of sex, the programming for Uninhibited includes a broad range of presenters and formats: from a bawdy storytelling show and live seduction music, to lectures from a well-known sex advice columnist, an animal reproduction zoologist, a thought-leader on human interaction and an Internet scientist on Googling sex. The series celebrates the totality of wellness, and is sure to be entertaining, inspiring, amusing and even a little bit spicy.
"Being located in the middle of such a progressive City, the JCCSF has become an ideal space for the community to explore topics that matter," said Barbara Lane, Director of Arts & Ideas at the JCCSF. "We want to share the value that safe and consensual sex is fundamentally healthy, pleasurable and Jewish. This allows Uninhibited to explore a topic that is universally relevant, but often complicated, emotional, political and sensational." Performances include Take it Off! The New Burlesque (March 18), Bawdy Storytelling: True Stories of Sexual Adventure (March 24) and UnderCover Presents: Under the Covers, A Night of Intimacy and Love Songs (April 16). Lectures and discussions include The Big O: Women and Sexual Desire (April 5), A Celebration of Animal Reproduction (April 21), Googling Sex (May 2), and Sex, Jews and Videotape (May 31), as well as renowned experts Dan Savage and Esther Perel. Arts & Ideas tickets begin at $27 and are available at www.jccsf.org/arts.Videos
