Christopher Durang's irresistible comedy "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike", Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan's outrageous musical "The Producers", and William Finn and James Lapine's extraordinary musical "Falsettos" make up the three award winning plays and musicals in Sierra Stages' 7th Season beginning in March 2015. Each of the shows represents the best in contemporary live theatre and each is a Nevada County premiere.

For the 7th consecutive year, Sierra Stages offers an affordable Season Pass. The Season Pass is priced at only $60 and allows theatregoers to select any performance of "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike", "The Producers", and "Falsettos". Sierra Stages also invites everyone, including Season Pass holders, to become a Sierra Stages Member and support quality local theatre. Memberships begin at $25 per person and are tax deductible. Not only will Members have the satisfaction of helping support quality theatre, but with the purchase of a Season Pass, Members are able to reserve specific seat locations for all three productions. The Sierra Stages 2015 Season Pass (and Sierra Stages Memberships) may be purchased online at www.SierraStages.org or by calling Sierra Stages at 530-346-3210.

Sierra Stages is a nonprofit community theatre based in western Nevada County with a mission to provide quality productions that are affordable and accessible to everyone. Offering a Season Pass for $60 is part of its mission to provide affordable theatre. Since it began only six years ago, Sierra Stages has presented twenty-two (22) plays and musicals and has been recognized by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance with six Elly Awards and 51 Elly Award nominations. The annual Elly Awards honor outstanding achievements of community theatres and artists in the greater Sacramento area. Sierra Stages performs at various local venues, including the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City and the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley.

The 2015 Season opens with the winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" playing from March 6 -21 at the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. Vanya and his adopted sister Sonia are living a quiet life in the Pennsylvania farmhouse where they grew up, while their sister Masha travels the world as a movie star. Just as their cleaning woman issues a warning about terrible events in their future, Masha returns for an unannounced visit with her 20-something boy toy Spike in tow - and so begins an unforgettable weekend building to a fever pitch of rivalry, regret and racket. "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" is directed by Jeffrey Mason and features Casey Burke, Susan Mason, Robert Rossman, Karen Leigh Sharp, Rachel Wellman, and Sharon Winegar. Set design is by Pamela Hodges, lighting design is by Erin Beatie, and costume design is by Jill Kelly.

From July 16 - August 8 at the Nevada Theatre, Sierra Stages presents the winner of an unprecedented 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, "The Producers". From the brilliantly twisted mind of Mel Brooks comes this insanely funny adventure: A down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant concoct a get-rich scheme to bilk their investors out of millions by producing the most notorious musical flop in history. This Broadway hit is an over-the-top, irreverent musical comedy like nothing you have ever seen before. "The Producers" is directed by Susan Mason, with choreography by George Jayne and musical direction by Ken Getz, who will conduct the orchestra.

The third show in 2015 is the winner of Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score, "Falsettos" at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley from November 6-22. This delightfully infectious musical has charmed audiences for almost 50 years. William Finn's quirky, tender 1990's musical anticipated and celebrated the changing composition of families. It's a story that opens with a song extolling a "tight-knit family" and culminates with a jubilantly unorthodox bar mitzvah that brings together a 13-year old boy, his gay dad, his dad's lover, his mother and stepfather, and the lesbian couple from next door as one big, happy clan. At once tender and exuberantly funny, FALSETTOS is an extraordinary musical event.

The Sierra Stages 2015 Season Pass may be purchased now through March 6 online at www.SierraStages.org or by calling Sierra Stages at 530-346-3210. Performances play the Nevada Theatre, 401 Broad Street, Nevada City, CA.
