Next Saturday, EDMT is hosting a special audition workshop entitled: Do You Make These Common Mistakes in Auditions? This special workshop is being taught by Debbie and Rick Wilson on Saturday, August 13th.

Does the idea of auditioning for a show make you nervous?

Are you uncertain about exactly what to do?

Have you been disappointed with your auditions in the past?

Do you wish you had more confidence?

You can get the instruction you need to do the best audition of your life. You can get the inside information on what works and what doesn't from some of the people who sit at the casting table and make the decisions.

Over the course of a three hour workshop, we'll give you the inside information on the best way to prepare and present yourself at an audition. Plus you'll learn from a pair of instructors who have literally helped hundreds of young people do the best performances of their lives.

At this workshop you will learn:

Is it a mistake to sing your song from the beginning? (The answer may surprise you!)

How many people "shoot themselves in the foot" before they ever sing a note

How to choose your best audition song

Three things you must NEVER DO in your audition and one thing you must ALWAYS INCLUDE

The difference between an audition and a competition

Secrets for preparing for your best callback ever

How directors determine whether or not you can act while only watching you sing and dance

How casting decisions REALLY get made (It pays to know if you want to succeed.)

This information is highly valuable for anyone doing a theater audition for EDMT, other theater groups, or for school productions.

If you are new to auditioning, this information is vital.

If you're experienced at auditions, but are not having the success you want, this information may be even more important.

The workshop is designed to be split into two groups; novices and veterans. Each section is fine-tuned to match your level of experience. Everyone is assured of learning what they need to know to improve their skills.

A pair of top instructors
Debbie Wilson is a highly regarded director and choreographer for youth musical theater. Her creative vision has made El Dorado Musical Theatre one of the top youth theaters on the West Coast.

Besides being an outstanding director and choreographer, Debbie is an exceptional teacher. Many of her students over the past three decades have gone on to professional Broadway careers. She brings a proven real-world viewpoint to young people who enjoy theater.

Rick Wilson has spent the past three decades helping young people become top level performers. He has directed shows for EDMT and has written nine musicals, all of which have been produced.

His one-on-one coaching has helped many of EDMT's performers do their best audition ever and become more certain, confident performers.

The fee for attending this three hour workshop is $50. This is an exceptional value. Students who get one-on-one audition coaching from Rick pay $50 per hour. Three hours of instruction translates to a value of $150.

You simply can't get one-on-one audition coaching from Debbie. She just doesn't do it. The last time she taught a workshop that was available to the public was three years ago and there aren't any other workshops planned in the immediate future.

So, if you want to learn from the best, this is your best opportunity to do so.

As a special bonus, for every performer enrolled in this workshop, one parent can sit-in free. (Sorry, parents will not be able to participate in the singing and dancing portions. But, you can hum along and take lots of notes.)
