Comedian Jack Gallagher to Bring 5 SONGS Premiere to B Street Theatre

The B Street Theatre, Sacramento's resident professional new works theatre, has announced a world premiere with comedian Jack Gallagher.

For six weeks only, nationally acclaimed comedian and playwright Jack Gallagher returns to B Street with 5 SONGS. In his newest one-man interactive show, Gallagher tells stories based on four popular songs the audience suggests and one his own choosing. The show will change every night based on the audience's choices! Gallagher's humorous and touching reflections on each song will reflect the rich and varied experiences from Jack's life.

5 Songs will be the fifth Gallagher play commissioned by B Street. The others are Just the Guy (2002), What He Left (2006), A Different Kind of Cool (2010), Complete and Unfinished (2013) -- and his sixth such show to date. Jack Gallagher has enjoyed a long, successful career as a comedian, actor, writer, and host entertaining audiences across the country.

He has appeared regularly on The Tonight Show beside Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Cheers.

Directed by Jerry R. Montoya, 5 SONGS features music by Tommy Dunbar and scenic design by Samantha Reno.

5 SONGS will run January 18 - March 1st, 2015. Showtimes: Tuesdays at 6:30pm; Wednesdays at 2 pm and 6:30 pm; Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm; Saturdays at 5 pm and 9 pm; Sundays at 2 pm. About Jack Gallagher - For most of his life, Jack Gallagher has been entertaining. First as a kid for his family and then for his friends and teachers at school. Jack started his professional comedy career in Boston during the early 80's. As part of that explosive comedy scene, Jack helped establish such clubs as The Comedy Connection, Stitches and the legendary Ding-Ho Comedy. After moving to Los Angeles, Jack became a regular at The Improv and added big screen credits to his resume by landing a major role in the feature film Shakes the Clown with Bob "Bobcat" Goldthwait. He has also appeared in Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood and was featured in the made for television movie Incident at Ruby Ridge.

Jack can currently be seen as the co-host of the popular nationally syndicated Public television show MoneyTrack. Gallagher's work on network television includes his own ABC sitcom Bringing Up Jack as well as a recurring role on the HBO Original Series Curb Your Enthusiasm. A favorite of talk/variety show hosts and audiences, Jack made numerous appearances on The Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno as well as NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

In addition to headlining virtually every major comedy club in the country, Gallagher has appeared in concert with Dolly Parton, The Four Tops and Tony Bennett to name a few. Jack has written and continues to perform his four critically acclaimed one - man shows "Letters to Declan," "Just The Guy," "What He Left" and "A Different Kind Of Cool" in theaters and at corporate events across the country.

Jack is a three time Emmy award winner for his work as host of the PBS shows Money Moves, Off-Limits and Kids, Cash and Common Sense. And was also honored with the NATPE IRIS award in the category "On-Camera Talent."

When he's not working, Jack can be found at home with his wife Jean and sons Declan and Liam trying to figure out ways to stay off the road.

About Tommy Dunbar - Tommy Dunbar has been a professional musician since the age of seventeen. Primarily a guitarist and songwriter, Tommy has written and recorded 11 CDs of original music for his band, The Rubinoos. His music can be heard in the films, Revenge of the Nerds, Bachelor Party, Once Bitten, Fern Gulley Two as well as the TV shows Lizzie McGuire, All My Children, Daria, and Ed. He has lent his guitar playing to several Jonathan Richman recordings and his voice to a performance of Frank Zappa's 200 Motels, with the Netherlands Philharmonic.

Tommy has arranged pop and jazz for The Pacific Mozart Ensemble, a Bay Area a cappella choir, and for the doo wop group The Mighty Echoes. Tommy's theater credits include musical director for the Berkeley musical "Fanny at Chez Panisse", guitar player for The Sacramento Theater Group's "On The Way To Love", and composer for the B- Street Theatre productions of "Jack Goes Boating" and "Wittenberg". Tommy has produced radio ads for Big O Tires, Blue Diamond Almonds, Save Mart, and many others. He currently co-hosts a podcast called 5 Songs with Jack Gallagher.

Tommy and his wife Brenda live in midtown Sacramento with their three cats, all aptly named after guitars.
