Set amid the filth and fury of Dublin, 1904, the theatrical event of the century is about to explode. Will the Irish National Theater of Ireland seize its chance for glory? Fading stars, whores, rebels and romantics irreverently expose the strange and lurid world of "Dublin by Lamplight."

"Seeing the original production of 'Dublin by Lamplight' was one of the reasons I wanted to start Inis Nua Theatre," says Inis Nua founder Tom Reing. "I finally have the resources to produce it. It's kind of a dream fulfilled for me." Reing will be directing the production in its US premiere.
Featuring a style that combines commedia, stylized make-up, no set and six actors playing more than 30 roles, "Dublin" is Inis Nua's most ambitious project to date. The cast features Inis Nua favorites like Mike Dees, Charlie Delmarcelle, Kevin Meehan and Jared Michael Delaney, and introduces Megan Bellowar and Sarah Van Auken to Inis Nua audiences.
"'Dublin' is unlike anything seen in Philadelphia before," says Reing. "We feel that audiences are going to be engaged and delighted by what they see with this production."
The design team features past Inis Nua collaborators Terry Smith, lighting ("Skin Deep"), Lissi Stossel, set ("Bedbound") and Maggie Baker, Inis Nua's resident costume/makeup designer. In addition, John Lionarens ("Trad") will be providing live music.
All performances are to be held at the Broad St. Ministry, 315 South Broad Street, Tuesdays at 7, Weds- Sat at 8pm.
