Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, has acquired North American rights to the drama MS. WHITE LIGHT.

Netflix has released the trailer for Horse Girl, starring Alison Bre. In the film, Sarah (Brie), a socially isolated arts and crafts store employee, finds herself more content in the company of horses and supernatural crime shows than people. But when a series of strangely surreal dreams upend the simplicity of her waking life, Sarah struggles to distinguish her visions from reality.

When CIA officer Eva Geller (Michelle Monaghan) uncovers information about a man (Mehdi Dehbi) gaining international attention through acts of public disruption, she begins an investigation into his origins. As he continues to cultivate followers who allege he's performing miracles, the global media become increasingly beguiled by this charismatic figure. Geller must race to unravel the mystery of whether he really is a divine entity or a deceptive con artist capable of dismantling the world's geopolitical order. As the story unfolds, multiple perspectives are interwoven including that of an Israeli intelligence officer (Tomer Sisley), a Texas preacher (John Ortiz) and his daughter (Stefania LaVie Owen), a Palestinian refugee (Sayyid El Alami) and the journalist (Jane Adams) who covers the story. The series also stars Melinda Page Hamilton, Wil Traval, Fares Landoulsi, Dermot Mulroney and Beau Bridges.

Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffmanstars in HBO's 'Luck', a new series from David Milch. Hoffman plays Ace Bernstein 'a man in his late 60s just released from four years in prison who's autodidact, intelligent, and deeply involved in gambling.' The series will also star Dennis Farina and John Ortiz. Michael Mann will direct the pilot. Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Eva Mendes and Jeremy Renner served as presenters and 2011 Spirit Awards host Joel McHale was also on hand. Nominees for Best Feature include 127 Hours, Black Swan, Greenberg, The Kids Are All Right and Winter's Bone.

A trailer recently premiered for the Philip Seymour Hoffman-helmed 'Jack Goes Boating.' As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, Hoffman is making his directing debut with the Overture Films picture, an adaptation of Bob Glaudini's Off-Broadway play.
