Cortland Repertory Theatre is turning their new downtown performing arts venue into a swank and swinging nightclub to celebrate Valentine's Day with Sweet, Sinatra…And All That Jazz, to be held on Saturday night, February 13th.  New York City crooner and CRT star Marcus Goldhaber and his jazz musicians, The In Time Band will provide an evening of live, smooth jazz music, and a dance floor will be available for those couples who would like to cut a rug.  Also include in the ticket price is an elegant dessert buffet, with delicacies created by local dessert artist Mary Turturro of "Mary's Cakes".  Complimentary non-alcoholic punch will be available, along with a cash bar with wine from Americana Vineyards and beer from Bacchus Brewing Inc.  Seating is reserved, and will be arranged cabaret style at small four-person tables.  Singles or couples, families or groups of friends are invited; all are welcome to sit and enjoy the sweets and music, or show their dancing skills on the dance floor.  Tickets are currently on sale and are $35.00 per person. Last night in a Long Island star studded event The Gold Coast International Film Festival and Arts Center held it's 2015 Gala at the Tilles Center. The Gold Coast Arts Center's honorees this year were, Vince Giordano, Artist of Distinction - Music, Actor Navid Negahban, Artist of Distinction, Film, and Director Patricia Riggen, Director, Woman of Influence Award.  The evening's presenters were Will Friedwald, author & music editor, Michael Cuesta, Screenwriter, director of Showtime's "Homeland" and Lou Diamond Phillips, Actor Director and the star of the upcoming fiom "The 33" The Gala Emcee was Award winning WABC correspondent Kristin Thorne.  Regina Keller Gil is founder & executive director of The Gold Coast Arts Center and Caroline Sorokoff is an associate director of the Gold Coast Arts Center and Director of the Gold Coast International Film Festival.  The festival will run November 9-15th. Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with a mid-season benefit concert featuring the famed Juilliard String Quartet on Sunday, June 28th (3PM) performing Haydn, Webern, and Schubert. The weekend also welcomes Cantata Profana, performing the music of Stravinsky on Saturday, June 27th (6:30pm) and a solo performance by Kim Kashkashian, viola as the second offering of the Distinguished Artist Recital Series tonight, June 26th (7:30pm). Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with the Calidore String Quartet and guest artist Daniel Phillips, viola on Sunday, June 21st (3PM) performing Schubert, Caroline Shaw, Mendelssohn, and Brahms. Also this weekend, America's foremost Gilbert & Sullivan repertory ensemble, the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, honors their 40th anniversary season on Saturday, June 20th (6:30PM) including a special pre-concert dinner at The Falls Village Inn (5PM). This weekend also marks the beginning of the new Distinguished Artist Recital Series - a series of three evening recitals todays (7:30pm) featuring the talents of this summer's visiting faculty. Music Mountain has a long-standing tradition of bringing musicians of all ages to Gordon Hall. This weekend is a glowing example of this mission - the young Calidore String Quartet is embarking on their 4th year as an ensemble, while The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players are celebrating their 40th year!
