There can be miracles when you believe in The Prince of Egypt. That's right, the beloved 1998 animated movie has been turned into a musical, which is set to open in London's West End in February 2020.

The Iceman cometh. Austin Food & Wine Alliance (AFWA) and Rolling Roadshow are bringing legendary actor Val Kilmer to Austin for two once-in-a-lifetime movie events. On Saturday, August 31st, Kilmer will be live and in person at J. Lorraine Ghost Town for a very special screening of TOMBSTONE, the 1993 Western anchored by his iconic portrayal of gunslinger Doc Holliday. Then on Sunday, September 1st, he'll be at Camp Mabry for a screening of one of the most popular action films of all time, TOP GUN.

Stentz, President of Starlings Entertainment, announced today their expansion into television, with the launch of Starlings Television, led by studio executive and producer Chris Philip. The announcement of this new development comes on the heels of their successful investment in Paramount's Elton John biopic, ROCKETMAN.

Karen O & Danger Mouse's  "An Encounter with Lux Prima - The Art of Collaboration," a short documentary chronicling the 18-month development of their multisensory art installation "An Encounter With Lux Prima" debuts today via Variety. A new stage musical based on Dreamworks Animation film The Prince of Egypt will hold a private reading in London this week.

From March 27-31, 2019, attendees will enjoy celebrated award-winning speakers alongside fresh new voices on the literary scene.

SpectreVision, the boutique genre division of Company X, and ACE Pictures announced today that principal photography will begin next month on COLOR OUT OF SPACE. Starring Nicolas Cage, the film will be directed by Richard Stanley -- his first feature in over twenty years.  Based on the novella by H.P. Lovecraft, COLOR OUT OF SPACE will reunite Cage with SpectreVision, the company behind the critically acclaimed and commercially successful 2018 film MANDY. The film will also star Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck, RED SPARROW), Tommy Chong (UP IN SMOKE), Elliot Knight (DC's Titans), Julian Hilliard (The Haunting of Hill House) and Q'Orianka Kilcher (The Alienist, DORA THE EXPLORER).

The Directors Guild of America  today announced the nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Commercials and Documentary for 2018.

Val Kilmer will appear in person to introduce the screening of his one-man play about Mark Twain. The one-man show, Citizen Twain, played to sold-out houses at several performing arts venues in Los Angeles and now the writer, actor and director, Val Kilmer, presents a special film screening of the play for one night only at the College of Staten Island, Center for the Arts.

Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the hit Tom Cruise film, starring Cruise and Miles Teller has been pushed back nearly a year from July 12, 2019, to June 26, 2020, according to Variety.

Jon Hamm, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman have been cast in Paramount Pictures' TOP GUN: MAVERICK, according to Variety. They will be joining Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Monica Barbaro, who was just cast as the first female pilot and Teller's love interest in the film. 

Monica Barbaro has been cast in TOP GUN: MAVERICK, according to Variety. Paramount-Skydance's film currently stars join Tom Cruise and Miles Teller. Barbaro will be playing Teller's love interest in the film.

The Morris Museum will launch its new Inside Cinema Film Series on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Bickford Theatre. During this season, this film series will focus on film Noir, and will be hosted monthly by David Landau, a professor of film at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  For each screening there will be a discussion with David before the film to provide further insights.

Saban Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the THE SUPER starring Val Kilmerand John Flueger, according to Variety.

First Run Features is proud to announce the New York theatrical premiere of The Lost Village, a new documentary directed by Roger Paradiso. The film opens at New York's Cinema Village on October 19, 2018.
