Loopit focuses on the unfinished, repetitive and topsy-turvy nature of the human condition. We loop same themes, challenges and mistakes from century to century as we try to free ourselves from – often self-inflicted – frames. The absurd atmosphere of Saarinen’s choreography is inspired by the music of punk cabaret band The Tiger Lillies and texts from William Shakeaspeare‘s plays.

PuSh International Performing Arts Festival (PuSh) presents the Western Canadian premiere of Montreal choreographer Dana Gingras' visually arresting new work, FRONTERA, for one-night only, January 30, 2020 at 8pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Gingras and her internationally lauded dance company, Animals of Distinction, collaborate with the experimental post-rock band Fly Pan Am and members of the UK-based collective United Visual Artists to create a provocative multimedia experience of motion, sound, and light.

Leith Theatre Reopens Full Scale Production with THE LAST DAYS OF MANKIND

Leith Theatre is proud to present The Last Days of Mankind, the epic anti-war satire by Viennese writer Karl Kraus, as its first full scale major production in over 20 years. The play will preview on Saturday 10 November, followed by the World Premiere opening on Sunday 11 November and run until Friday 16 November.

This September, Joe's Pub at The Public kicks off its 20th Anniversary year, celebrating two decades of presenting the best in live music and performance nightly with a commitment to diversity, production values, community, and artistic freedom. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. There will also be a change in leadership at Joe's Pub - Alex Knowlton will become Director of Joe's Pub, as Shanta Thake will inaugurate a new role at The Public Theater as Senior Director of Artistic Programs.
