Being cast in an August Wilson play feels like an honour; I studied his work at drama school. He is described as the black Shakespeare. His words and characters are so full of life - half my job feels done already. How he expresses the black experience feels so relatable even to this day.
MainStage 222 Opens Doors Early With 'Live Blues Revue'

As previously announced, MainStage Irving*Las Colinas has recently leased the former Texas Musicians Museum (222 E. Irving Blvd, Irving TX 75060), with the newly-titled MainStage 222 building set to officially open on October 3rd. But marking the inaugural performance in the new space with be the MainStage 222 Live Blues Revue, featuring DFW's most requested Blues bands on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 6:00PM to 12:00AM. $10 general admission tickets are now available online at tickets.irvingartscenter.com/milc222. Electro-pop soul artist, Zach Maxwell announces his latest single 'Girl Like You.' The Denver-based, producer, songwriter, dancer and vocalist, will be debuting the new single at The Underground Music Showcase on Saturday, July 27 @ 10:45 pm at 3 Kings. He will be playing selections from his first EP, 'Music for Life,' released earlier this year, as well as debuting some other new material and cover songs as well.

Working closely with the Apple Music team, DJ Khaled will create and executive produce stand alone special editions of some of Apple Music's most successful and beloved playlists. To officially kick things off, DJ Khaled today unveiled Office DJ Khaled, his own version of Apple Music's popular Office DJ playlist. The new playlist is uptempo, easygoing and most of all fun and features everyone from Lauryn Hill, Drake, Sam Cooke, Snoop and of course, DJ Khaled to name a few.

Although he was born by the sea, it wasn't until he moved to the desert that storyteller Nels Andrews began writing songs. He sang them alone in a house constructed of mud and tires on the sage-brushed mesas of Taos, New Mexico where he spent his 20's, airing them occasionally around campfires. It wasn't until a move 90 miles south to the dusty yet curiously eccentric city of Albuquerque that he began to play them in front of strangers, and from there, to start collaborating. He began to shape his desert-infused folk/rock sound, pairing literary narratives of curious high desert outsiders with the psych-rock palate and electro-fuzz of his then band,
