Season, Anton Chekhov's final elegiac comedy masterpiece, THE CHERRY ORCHARD, in a new translation by Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky. 11th Hour Theatre Company presents CHESS THE MUSICAL. Music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, lyrics by Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Lion King, Aida), and book by Richard Nelson. The concert is directed by 11th Hour co-founder and producing Artistic Director, Michael Philip O'Brien, with music direction by Madison Auch. This riveting rock musical event will perform January 11th-19th at Christ Church Neighborhood House, and will feature seven professional actors alongside an ensemble of eight Temple University students. The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced a second and final extension today for the New York revival of A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner. Directed by Oskar Eustis, this scorching new version of Kushner's first play began performances in the Anspacher Theater on Tuesday, October 29 with an official press opening on Monday, November 25. A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY was originally scheduled to close on December 8, but has now been extended twice through Sunday, December 22.

The Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation has announced the next group of guests confirmed for their popular “Live at the Lortel” podcast focused on Off-Broadway. Each taping lasts about 60 minutes – with 45 minutes of moderated conversation with host Eric Ostrow and 15 minutes for audience questions. The next round of tapings will all take place on Monday, December 2, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. As always, tickets are free to the public and can be reserved by visiting www.liveatthelortel.com.
