Broadway's Future Songbook Series -- presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul -- just presented the songs of award-winning lyricist Jill Abramovitz. Produced and hosted by John Znidarsic, the concert featured performances by: Arielle Jacobs (Wicked), Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You), Alex Gemignani (Sunday in the Park With George), Jessica Vosk (Fiddler on the Roof), Kate Wetherhead (Clever Little Lies), Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde), Dana Steingold, F. The workshop of award-winning composer/lyricist/playwright/performer Max Vernon's new musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, directed by Scott Ebersold and with choreography by Spencer Liff and music direction by Matt Aument, began rehearsals last week in New York City and will culminate in three industry presentations on March 31st and April 1st. THE VIEW UPSTAIRS is produced by Invisible Wall Productions, and they are proud to announce the cast and creative team.

he Public Theaterannounced complete casting today for the new musical SOUTHERN COMFORT that tells the true story of a group of transgender friends living life on their own terms in the back hills of rural Georgia. Directed by Thomas Caruso and based on the film by Kate Davis, SOUTHERN COMFORT features book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, and was conceived for the stage by Robert DuSold and Thomas Caruso. SOUTHERN COMFORT begins previews on Tuesday, February 23 and will run through Sunday, March 27 in The Public's Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Monday, March 7. Jordan Ramirez Puckett Receives Abingdon's Christopher Brian Wolk Award

On Monday, December 14, San Francisco-based playwright Jordan Ramirez Puckett received Abingdon Theatre Company's 2015 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for her play Restore. Artistic Director Tony Speciale presented Ms. Puckett with her award and directed a stage reading of the new play about how an unthinkable event affects a young couple and their families. The reading featured Chris Dwan, Yvette Ganier, Ginger Grace, Dominique Fishback, and Michael Winther, with stage directions read by Zach McCoy.
Sondheim Unplugged to Celebrate 50th Installment at Feinstein's/54 Below

Sondheim Unplugged, New York's long running hit revue, will celebrate the 50th installment of the series with two very special gala performances on Sunday, December 27th at 7pm and 9:30pm at Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th St., Cellar, NYC). Award-winning composer/jazz pianist Fred Hersch, who turns 60 on October 21st, collaborates with acclaimed poet/playwright Mary Jo Salter for ROOMS OF LIGHT, a staged song cycle for five singers, with a set, lighting design and a chamber ensemble. This is Fred's third commission for Peak Performances and the acoustic splendor of the Alexander Kasser Theater is the perfect venue for his adventurous and beautiful music.
