On Monday, December 14, San Francisco-based playwright Jordan Ramirez Puckett received Abingdon Theatre Company's 2015 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for her play Restore. Artistic Director Tony Speciale presented Ms. Puckett with her award and directed a stage reading of the new play about how an unthinkable event affects a young couple and their families. The reading featured Chris Dwan, Yvette Ganier, Ginger Grace, Dominique Fishback, and Michael Winther, with stage directions read by Zach McCoy.

In an ongoing effort to recognize excellence in playwriting, Abingdon established the Christopher Brian Wolk Award, which has been presented annually, since 2001, to a writer of a full-length play not yet produced in New York City. The honor includes a $1,000 cash award and staged reading of the winning script. The award is named after Christopher Brian Wolk, a talented and creative actor, musician, singer, writer and composer who died in an accident in National Glacier Park, Montana.

Jordan Ramirez Puckett's full-length plays include Pajarita, Restore, Inevitable, The American Traitor, The Fourth Year, Aphrodite's Lounge and Blank Maps. Jordan's work has been produced and/or developed by San Francisco Playhouse, Goodman Theatre, PlayGround, Playwrights Center of San Francisco, and 2 Cents Theatre Group. She is the Associate Artistic Director at San Francisco Playhouse, where she heads their literary department and produces their Sandbox Series of world premiere plays. She holds a bachelor's degree in Theatre and Psychology from Northwestern University and currently lives in the Bay Area with her husband.
