Bailiwick Chicago Theater has announced its 2014-15 Season, launching this fall with the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical THE WILD PARTY, with music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, book by LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe, based on the 1928 poem by Joseph Moncure March, directed by Brenda Didier and musical direction by Aaron Benham*. The season continues this winter with the world premiere of the fierce new play PRINCESS MARY DEMANDS YOUR ATTENTION by Resident Playwright Aaron Holland, directed by Artistic Director Lili-Anne Brown*. Next spring, Bailiwick Chicago presents the Chicago premiere of the intense off-Broadway rock musical MURDER BALLAD, conceived by and with book and lyrics by Julia Jordan, music and lyrics by Juliana Nash and directed by James Beaudry. Dallas Theater Center announced today that Austin/Brooklyn band Foe Destroyer will return to the DTC stage in the upcoming production of The Rocky Horror Show. Bayside! The Musical! - the hilarious unauthorized parody of the wholesome Saturday morning show "Saved by the Bell" - has joined forces with the iconic humor brand National Lampoon to expand their New York performance calendar. Starting on August 27, Bayside! will increase the weekly schedule from three to five shows, all of which will feature Dustin Diamond - the original "Screech" from the TV series - as Dustin Diamond, the role he was born to play. The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 44th, 45th, and 46th Rolling World Premieres: Nathan Alan Davis' Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea, Andrew Hinderaker's Colossal, and William Missouri Downs' Women Playing Hamlet will receive a total of 12 productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2014/15 season. Arena Stage Selects John Strand as Resident Playwright

Artistic Director Molly Smith announces D.C.-area based playwright John Strand will join Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater for a yearlong playwright residency as part of the American Voices New Play Institute, effective this month through June 2015. Through the residency Strand will receive a salary; health benefits; a budget to be used at his discretion to cover collaborator fees, workshop costs and research expenses to support his new play development process; and a commitment from Arena Stage to produce a new work in a future season and to continue cultivating an ongoing, long-term relationship.
