As BroadwayWorld reported this week, the Broadway community has been taking a stand with Actors' Equity in the 'Not a Lab Rat' campaign, to increase the minimum salary for developmental labs, as well as get profit sharing for lab participants.Actors' Equity and the Broadway League have been disputing the issue, but Equity says they have reached an impasse and are now officially calling for a strike in a new statement:

Actors' Equity Members Take #NotALabRat Campaign To Broadway Audiences

Actors' Equity Association, the national labor union representing more than 51,000 Actors and Stage Managers, announced that the Union's #NotALabRat campaign entered a new phase, where Equity members have begun asking audiences to join Equity's fight for a stronger Lab Agreement with the Broadway League.

The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) are pleased to announce that the tenth annual Broadway Salutes ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th St). The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. with arrivals and pinning, and the reception begins at 4:00 p.m.

Actors' Equity Association has announced that a new name has been chosen for the tradition formerly known as the "Gypsy Robe." Moving forward, the Robe and tradition will be referred to as the "Legacy Robe" - a name chosen by members in a survey.
Actors' Equity Reaches First-Time Agreement With Cruise Line

Actors' Equity Association announced today that it reached an agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line to cover members on the cruise line's new ship, the Norwegian Bliss. From May 3 - May 5 while in New York, the Norwegian Bliss was under Equity Agreement, marking the first time that a full Equity cast has been used on a cruise ship.
