MCC THEATER has announced the cast for the world premiere of Robert Askins' Permission: stage and screen star Justin Bartha, of Broadway's Lend Me A Tenor, Off-Broadway's All New People and the blockbuster film The Hangover; Twilight and "Grey's Anatomy" Emmy-nominated star Elizabeth Reaser, returning to MCC following her critically acclaimed performance in this fall's The Money Shot; and theater regulars Nicole Lowrance, Talene Monahon, and Lucas Near-Verbrugghe. In celebration of the third annual International Day of Happiness at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the NGO Relations and Advocacy Section of DPI held an expert global panel yesterday, exploring scientifically proven data that demonstrates the inverse relationship that wealth (both national and personal) can have on happiness. Broadway Conductor and Composer Mary-Mitchell Campbell, currently serving as musical director of Finding Neverland, and Founder of Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) served as the event's Moderator. Campbell called upon her friend Jonathan Groff, who is currently appearing onstage in Hamilton, to celebrate the special occasion on Good Day New York. MCC THEATER has announced that the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman will receive the distinct honor of being filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The filming will take place during the Friday, March 20th performance. The Nether recently extended performances through Sunday, March 29, 2015. The new American play HAND TO GOD has now begun rehearsals and will open on Broadway on April 7, 2015 at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street), marking the Broadway debut of playwright Robert Askins. HAND TO GOD is directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel in his Broadway debut with previews beginning at the Booth Theatre on Saturday, March 14, 2015 ahead of the April 7th opening.
