Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Lupetin.

Trinity Rep's eighth annual playwriting competition for New England high school students, Write Here! Write Now!, announces this year's winning playwrights: Jillian Aronnalt (East Providence High School in East Providence, RI), Cori Diaz (Rockville High School in Vernon, CT), Amanda Fawell (Framingham High School in Framingham, MA), and Sam Weiler (Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich, RI). Each student will have their ten-minute play performed by professional actors at a staged reading at Trinity Rep on May 21, 2019, at 7:00 pm, a free event which is open to the public.

Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein today announced the appointment of Travis LeMont Ballenger as Associate Artistic Director. The Globe will have two people in this key position, as Ballenger joins Associate Artistic Director Justin Waldman, who has been at the Globe since 2011. Ballenger and Waldman will report jointly to Edelstein. Ballenger will assume his artistic duties at The Old Globe on May 1.

Trustus Theatre brings its second Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Sweat by Lynn Nottage, to its stage this season. Sweat, the second most produced play in the United States this season, brings to light the harsh realities of what it's like to survive on minimum wage in one of the poorest cities in the country and the dissolution of the American dream. This play speaks to Columbia's history-once a regional textile manufacturing center with six mills in operation and 3,400 millworkers-and to how easily the American dream can be lost when the country's economy struggles.

Red Bull Theater Founding Artistic Director, Jim Bredeson - Red Bull Managing Director, and the Board of Trustees of Red Bull Theater are pleased to announce that the Eleventh Annual Running of the Red Bulls Gala Benefit on Monday June 3rd, at 6pm, will celebrate the company's 16th Season and honor director Daniel Sullivan, actor Condola Rashad, and the American Theatre Wing with the 2019 Matador Awards for Excellence in Classical Theater. A one-week extension has been announced today for the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard and directed by Tony Award nominee Terry Kinney. The production will now run April 23 to June 2, 2019 with a Monday, May 13 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's Pay What You Want theatre company, has announced the first production of its 10th Anniversary season, the Los Angeles premiere of Samsara by Lauren Yee, directed by Rebecca Wear. There will be one preview performance on Friday, May 10, at 8:30pm, and opening is set for Saturday, May 11, at 8:30pm. Samsara will play through June 1 at the Met Theatre in Los Angeles.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
